Ruki are minnow-like[3] fish Rahi.

History

The Ruki species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.[4]

Many Ruki made their home in the Silver Seas around Metru Nui.[5] After the Great Cataclysm, a population of Ruki migrated to Mata Nui, where they lived for 1,000 years. Here, Ruki were most often found in the seas around Ga-Koro.[6] When the Bohrok swarms were prematurely awakened, Ruki migration near the shore was disrupted by displaced Takea.[7] When the Toa Nuva intentionally unleashed the Bohrok, these Ruki migrated back to Metru Nui.[8]

After the Great Spirit Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, many Ruki were evacuated onto Spherus Magna.[1]

Abilities and Traits

Ruki are known for their powerful snapping jaws and habit of chewing through Matoran fishing nets. The Ruki are a natural enemy of the Tarakava and, despite being much smaller individually, entire schools of Ruki work together to drive off the larger Rahi.[2][6]

Set Information

The Ruki was released as part of the 10023 BIONICLE Master Builder Set. It used 36 of the set's 102 pieces. The model's jaws would snap open and closed when pressing down its dorsal fin.
