Water Wraiths are small marine Rahi.

History

The Water Wraith species was created by Makuta Teridax using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.

After the Mata Nui Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, the surviving Water Wraiths were evacuated to Spherus Magna.

Abilities and Traits

Water Wraiths are extremely tiny Rahi with a unique and deadly hunting tactic. A Water Wraith will occasionally assault a much larger Rahi, which inevitably defeats the puny creature and gulps the small Rahi into its mouth. However, the Water Wraith's outer shell is coated in poison, which kills its devourer almost instantly. The Water Wraith then emerges and feeds on the dead creature for several months.

Trivia

• Teridax once likened the Water Wraith's defense mechanism to his infamous plan to gain control of the universe, since both required feigning defeat.
