Lightfish are minuscule jellyfish-like Rahi native to the underwater caves of Metru Nui.[2]
History
The Lightfish were created made by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to populate the Matoran Universe.[3]
The Lightfish could be found in the deepest underwater caves of Ga-Metru on Metru Nui.[2][4]
The Ga-Matoran of Ga-Koro later discovered Lightfish during the Matoran occupation of Mata Nui.[2] Because of their bright, constant glow, they were used as an alternative to Lightstones. Lightfish were placed in glass containers and used to illuminate huts.[5]
Abilities and Traits
Lightfish are bioluminescent, releasing a constant glow for their entire lifetimes. However, they cease to glow when they die.[6]
