"Pouks is usually the one to hunt these, but they asked me to comment because of the wings. We can all feel lucky that Vahki Hunters stick to non-living prey. If they ever get an appetite for the rest of us, I am not sure what could stop these monsters. Certainly not the Vahki!"

Vahki Hunters are a species of machinery-obsessed Rahi.

History

The Vahki Hunter species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.[3]

A population of Vahki Hunters made their home in Metru Nui, favoring the districts of Ta-Metru and Po-Metru. Here, they earned their namesake by indulging in a diet of machinery of any kind, with a special preference for Vahki. They were also known to eat Ta-Metru Fire Drones and industrial machinery. A small number were captured and placed in the Archives, but escaped, and only one or two were ever recaptured.[4]

After the Great Cataclysm and the coming of the Visorak, Ta-Metru and Po-Metru became too chaotic for the Vahki Hunters, and they spread out over the city to hunt the few functional Vahki remaining.[4]

After the Mata Nui Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, the surviving Vahki Hunters left the Matoran Universe and immigrated to Spherus Magna.[1]

Abilities and Traits

The Vahki Hunter's hunting method was to hide underground and wait for a Vahki squad to pass over its head. It then burst out into the street, grabbed the last Vahki in line, and pulled it down below. Once the Vahki Hunter was done eating, it would throw whatever parts it did not like into the street.[4]
