The Husi are large ostrich-like Rahi found in arid regions.

History

The Husi species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.[2]

On Metru Nui, the Husi were almost hunted to extinction by the Muaka, so they were placed in the Archives for their own protection.[3]

After the Great Cataclysm, these Husi escaped captivity and fled to the island of Mata Nui, where they took up residence in the rocky crags of Po-Wahi. Though they could be dangerous due to their swift, lethal pecking, the Husi were often tamed by Po-Matoran. They were commonly traded at bazaars and markets in Po-Koro in exchange for goods and services.[4][MNOG]

When the Bohrok swarms were awakened, native Husi flocks had to compete for food with herds of Vako and Fusa, which were displaced by the deforestation of the Le-Wahi jungle.[WoH, Ch. 6]

When the Po-Matoran returned to Metru Nui, they brought their tamed Husi with them. Any remaining wild Husi migrated back to Metru Nui when the Toa Nuva intentionally unleashed the Bohrok.[citation needed]

After the Great Spirit Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, many Husi emigrated from the Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna.[1]

Abilities and Traits

The Husi are noted for their dangerous habit of pecking their foes.[4] A variation of Husi could be found in Ta-Wahi, adapted to be able to run on lava.[QftT]

Set Information

The Husi was released as part of the 10023 Bionicle Master Builder set. Turning the gear on the back caused the head to bend down.

Trivia
