"Unfortunately, a Catapult Scorpion considers almost anything that moves its enemy, except for Kikanalo. This makes it a very disruptive visitor to the surface world."

Catapult Scorpions are violent, scorpion-like Rahi.

History

Makuta Chirox created the Catapult Scorpion species using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to populate the Matoran Universe.[1][3]

On Metru Nui, the Catapult Scorpions resided in caverns under the Sculpture Fields. Their preferred hunting method was to follow Kikanalo herds and eat whatever their horns dug up. Due to Catapult Scorpions being such fearsome Rahi, Phase Dragons, Rock Raptors, Tunnelers, and Po-Matoran all lived in fear of them.[4]

After the Mata Nui Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, many Catapult Scorpions emigrated from the Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna.[2]

Abilities and Traits

The Catapult Scorpions possess stingers that can materialize balls of molten magma, which quickly harden into rock. They launch these stones by snapping their stingers forward. These Rahi also have razor-like pincers, sharp teeth, and a head covered in spines and horns. Catapult Scorpions eat solid Protodermis.

Catapult Scorpions are often mistaken for large Nui-Jaga, but are far more savage and dangerous. When they come out of their nests, they destroy everything in their path. They will attack almost everything that moves, the only exception being Kikanalo.[4]
