The Kanohi Akaku is the Mask of X-Ray Vision, sometimes called the Mask of Vision.[2]
Powers
The Kanohi Akaku allows its user to see through solid objects and structures. Kanohi Akaku are commonly fitted with telescopic lenses that provide enhanced vision, complementing the masks' power.[1] The user could control how many layers they can see through.[3] The mask does not allow for seeing through the use of the Huna or Mahiki.[4][5]
On Metru Nui, Kanohi Akaku were crafted by combining Regeneration and Teleport Kanoka.[6]

Set Information
The Great Akaku was first released in 2001 as part of 8536 Kopaka in white, and 1393 Matoro in sand blue. It was one of the masks possible to be received in 8525 BIONICLE Masks, in white, red, blue, green, brown, and black. It was also possible to get the mask in the aforementioned six colors through BIONICLE: Quest for the Masks. In 2002, it was made available in silver and gold in set 8559 BIONICLE Krana. It was later released again in sand blue as part of set 8582 Matoro in 2003. The mask bears the code V-33 on the inside.
The noble Kanohi Akaku was released in white in 2008, as part of set 8945 Solek
Trivia
- The Kanohi Akaku was originally going to possess multiple vision powers as the Mask of Vision. The mask was later scaled back into only possessing x-ray vision. Because of this Kopaka uses infrared vision in The Coming of the Toa.[10]
