The Legendary Mask of Creation is a Kanohi under ownership of Artakha and one of the three most powerful Kanohi in the Matoran Universe. The mask is carved in various designs to reflect the variety of cultures that exist in the Matoran Universe.

History

The Mask of Creation was forged by the Great Beings, including Heremus. The mask was fought over by two of their earliest creations, Artakha and Karzahni. Artakha won the competition and claimed the mask, and it has since helped him design many of his creations.

The Mask of Creation allows its user to imagine a completed product from raw materials and learn how to construct it, or make it out of thin air if it was already envisioned. However, the mask cannot create living things.

The Mask of Creation is one of the three most powerful Kanohi in existence. As such, if the Mask of Creation is destroyed while inside the Matoran Universe, the beings within would lose the ability to create new things. It is impossible to create a Great, Noble, or Matoran version of the Mask of Creation, as a weaker mask would not be able to contain the power within itself.

• In BIONICLE: World, it's stated that the Mask of Creation cannot actually bring into being the things it helped the user to envision. Since the guide book is written from Order of Mata Nui agents' perspective, this piece of information about the previously fabled mask was most likely incorrect.
• The Mask of Creation was designed by a TTV Message Boards member as part of the winning entry to TTV's BIONICLE Canon Contest #2: Meet the Maker. Greg Farshtey approved the design, which was submitted alongside a depiction of Artakha, as the mask's canon appearance. The mask takes cues from many pre-existing designs in BIONICLE, including the Toa Mata's six Kanohi; the Kanohi Avohkii, Kraahkan, and Ignika; and both the Kini-Nui and the Coliseum.
