The Lehvak are the Bohrok swarm of Acid.
History
Lehvak are created when Av-Matoran fulfill their destiny and transform into the mechanical insectoid Bohrok. They are then transported to Bohrok Nests to await the signal to cleanse the island camouflage of the Great Spirit Mata Nui. They are aided by the Bohrok Va, Lehvak Va.
The Lehvak swarms beneath the island of Mata Nui were awakened by Makuta Teridax, upon his defeat by the Toa Mata. Shortly after their awakening, the Lehvak invaded Le-Wahi and captured Turaga Matau, Lewa, and the Le-Matoran, excluding Tamaru and Kongu. In conjunction with the Nuhvok, they took over the village and enlisted the newly krana-infected Matoran to their task, but with the help of the Boxor vehicles and a clever trap, a group of Matoran, including Kongu, Tamaru, Takua, and Nuparu, defeated them and the Le-Matoran were saved.
A swarm of Lehvak also attacked Po-Koro at one time, though they were relatively unsuccessful. Tahnok later came to the village to finish the job. In Ko-Wahi, Kopaka followed a swarm of Lehvak to the entrance of the Bohrok Nest, where the Toa Mata would later return to stop the Bohrok once and for all.
When the Bahrag were released by the Toa Nuva from their cage, the Lehvak swarms awoke and contributed to cleanse the island of Mata Nui. They have since returned to their nest.
Abilities and Traits
The Lehvak were controlled by the Bahrag through their krana. They are clever tacticians, never striking in one place for long and making it hard to predict where they would turn up next. They can work in swarms, but they prefer to work in smaller groups. They practice hit and run tactics and are probably the most intelligent Bohrok species, more than capable of thinking and operating alone. The only real way to stop them is to corner a group and surprise each one individually.
Lehvak are considered the most dangerous Bohrok because of their powerful Acid, which can dissolve any substance, including Protosteel.[2] They are also the only Bohrok designed for combat, intended to fight any who tried to interfere with the swarm's mission.[3][4] Because of their specialization, the active Lehvak swarm was less numerous than the swarms of other Bohrok types.[4]
Like all Bohrok, they are capable of rolling into a ball to travel quickly. They can, along with all Bohrok, snap their heads forward as an offensive move or to launch their krana at a foe to bring the foe into the swarm's control.
Tools
Lehvak used their Acid Shields to secrete their powerful acid.[5][6]

8564 Lehvak was released in early 2002 and contained forty pieces. A randomly packed red krana was included with the set. By pushing down on the lever on the back of the Lehvak, the gears will cause its head to lunge forward. It is also able to roll up into a ball. An extra piece included in the set allowed the rolled-up Lehvak to hang from the lid inside the canister.
Lehvak can be combined with 8562 Gahlok and 8565 Kohrak to create the "Bohrok Kaita Ja". Parts from Lehvak could be combined with 8563 Tahnok to make a Keras model, using instructions available on LEGO.com c. 2002. Lehvak could also combine with 8562 Gahlok to make the Ghekula model; instructions could be found in the May–June 2002 issue of LEGO Magazine.
Lehvak was also released as part of a bundle, 65071 BIONICLE Dual Pack: Lehvak and Pahrak in 2002.
A promotional item, P1717 Pen Lehvak was a customizable, Lehvak-themed pen released in 2002.
Trivia
- Lehvak are the only Bohrok that do not possess an Elemental power, instead having the power of Acid.
- Because LEGO would not allow the use of the term 'acid,'[7] Lehvak were often listed as Swamp Bohrok.[8][5]
