Style Guides are manuals used for the formatting and design of documents. In marketing, Style Guides are used to maintain consistency in visual communication and documentation, especially with partners such as retail outlets. LEGO creates Style Guides for internal use and distribution for its product years; since its release, several Style Guides for the BIONICLE franchise have been discovered or published. Some Style Guides were only known to be available digitally, while others came in additional physical formats.

2003

The 2003 Style Guide was produced as a physical product and distributed to select members of the BIONICLE team, such as Christian Faber. A copy was also later procured by the set designer for Tarix, known on BZPower as "Torsti."[1]

The guide, contained in a unique box, was comprised of four main components: the Style Guide itself, detailing the main characters from the Mata Nui story arc and the history of the franchise thus far; BIONICLE Synopsis, a narrative of major events written from an in-universe story perspective; A Brief History of BIONICLE, a VHS tape; and two Style Guide CDs, which contained the digital files and images seen in the other components.

Physical copies of these guides also contained versions of 8592 Turahk, without the canister.
