Tahnok-Kal was the Bohrok-Kal of Electricity.
Biography
Tahnok-Kal was originally an Av-Matoran who was destined to transform into a Tahnok. Eventually, it was then exposed to a mutagenic substance by the Bahrag, transforming it into Tahnok-Kal.
It was Tahnok-Kal who first discovered that the theft of the Nuva Symbols caused the loss of the Elemental Powers of the Toa Nuva. After organizing a plan to rob the Symbols, this Bohrok-Kal shadowed Takua and Jaller as the two journeyed to Ta-Koro following the final showdown and defeat of the Bohrok swarms at Ga-Koro. The Tahnok-Kal trapped the guard in a stasis field of electricity, and stole Tahu's Nuva Symbol. Tahnok-Kal quickly imprisoned Jaller in an electrical cage and defeated Tahu Nuva, bringing a stone archway down on him.
After the first victorious battle against the Toa Nuva, Tahnok-Kal was defeated by Onua and Pohatu, who trapped him under a tree. When its krana-kal was taken, it revealed that the Bohrok-Kal had already discovered the entrance to the Bohrok nest.
Tahnok-Kal and the other Bohrok-Kal eventually found the location of the Bahrag, but discovered they were guarded by the Exo-Toa. After defeating them, they proceeded to the Bahrag's cage and the Nuva Cube. As they began to place the symbols on the cube, the krana-kal turned a silver color, forming a shield similar to the Kanohi Hau's, protecting Tahnok-Kal and the others from harm.
Eventually, Tahnok-Kal was overloaded along with the other Bohrok-Kal when the Nuva Symbol fed it more power than it could handle, trapping itself in an electric cage formed by its own power shields, which destroyed it by fusing its moving parts together.[1]
Abilities and Traits
Tahnok-Kal was the fast, powerful, albeit haughty leader of the Bohrok-Kal squad. It had the power of Electricity, which allowed it to send bolts of lightning or to create electric force fields. However, Tahnok-Kal was not able to use Chain Lightning.[2]
Tools
Tahnok-Kal used Electric Shields to channel its Electrical powers.

8574 Tahnok-Kal was released in early 2003. It contained forty pieces and each set included a randomly packed dark gold-colored krana-kal, though seventy-two random Bohrok-Kal sets were packed with sterling silver krana-kal and 5000 with white metal krana-kal, both symbolizing the silver form that protected the Bohrok-Kal in the final moments of their mission. Pieces from Tahnok-Kal can be combined with those of Nuhvok-Kal and Pahrak-Kal to create Bohrok-Kal Kaita Za.
