The Lava Chamber Gate was a gate to the Chamber of Life located under Mount Valmai on Voya Nui.

History

On their quest to obtain the Kanohi Ignika, the Piraka arrived at the gate and set a few traps to ambush the following Toa Inika who, in hot pursuit of the Piraka, arrived soon afterwards and battled against their adversaries. During the conflict, Nuparu used an earthquake to keep the Piraka off balance, though it weakened the bridge as well. Kongu later summoned a powerful gust of wind in an attempt to stop Zaktan. The bridge toppled onto the Toa Inika, and the Piraka continued towards their goal. The Toa Inika quickly managed to escape from the rubble and continued to pursue the Piraka.

The Lava Chamber Gate set

8893 Lava Chamber Gate was released as a set in the summer of 2006, containing 206 pieces. It was the second largest playset that year. The set featured minifigures of the Toa Inika Matoro, Hahli, Hewkii, and Nuparu, as well as of the Piraka Zaktan, Hakann, Vezok, and Avak.

At the top of each of the towers was a button that, when pressed or hit with a Zamor Sphere, released the chains that held the bridge together. Other than that, many non-canon features were found in the set, including a Zamor Sphere catapult atop one tower, a Zamor Launcher atop the opposite tower, and four Lavaboards for the Inika, two of which featured Zamor launchers.
