Nynrah was an island in the Matoran Universe and the land of origin of the Nynrah Ghosts.
History
Nynrah was created by the Great Beings during the construction of the Matoran Universe. A group of Matoran crafters, later dubbed the Nynrah Ghosts, settled here and used the island as their operating headquarters.
After the Matoran Civil War, Makuta Miserix assigned Tridax to supervise the island.[1][citation needed]
Concerned about their safety, and because no Toa were present on the island, the Nynrah Ghosts once conducted an experiment on Nynrah in hope to create a being who could protect them. The experiment resulted in failure and the mutation of a Nynrah Ghost who was ostracized on the island. This being was shunned by his fellow Ghosts and later became the Dark Hunter known as "Phantom."[3][4]
After the creation of the Visorak on an island south of Nynrah, the island's original surviving inhabitants, including Tobduk, fled to Nynrah from the spider-like Rahi. They continued on from Nynrah to Stelt.[5]
During the Destiny War, the Brotherhood of Makuta invaded the island, with the Order of Mata Nui unable to dislodge their forces.[6] A fierce battle then took place, during which the Order eventually claimed victory. Toa Helryx, arriving on the island, began combing the beach, picking up fragments of Rahkshi armor and attempting to find the source of the Energized Protodermis which created them with her Mask of Psychometry. Discovering a piece of armor that originated from a previously unknown source of Energized Protodermis, she departed with her Rahi ally Keetongu to this location.[7]
After the Battle of Bara Magna, the Matoran Universe was rendered uninhabitable, and the residents of Nynrah emigrated from Nynrah to Spherus Magna. Later, Nynrah, along with all other locations in the Matoran Universe, was dismantled.[8][9]
Landscape
Details about the island's geography were scarce, but there was a steep cliff on the island. The island had a number of villages, although only one of them was occupied by the Nynrah Ghosts. In the Matoran village, there was an armory, which once housed the prototype Zamor Launchers, though these were later stolen.[10] The island also had a beach, where the Order fought against the Brotherhood.[7]
Former Inhabitants
Nynrah Ghosts
The Nynrah Ghosts were the only Matoran who lived on Nynrah,[11][note 1] and are extremely skilled craftsmen. They occupied only one village on the island.[10]
Primary Residents
Little is known of the primary inhabitants of Nynrah, except that they, like the Nynrah Ghosts, are crafters.
