The Lake of Protodermis was a shallow lake filled with Liquid Protodermis on the east side of the Voya Nui region of the Southern Continent.

History

The Lake of Protodermis was on the Southern Continent, and was ripped to the surface of Aqua Magna in the Great Cataclysm with the rest of Voya Nui. The Lake was one of the few remaining sources of liquid Protodermis on Voya Nui. However, since the lake could not replenish itself, its reserves of Protodermis continued to dry out, and 1,000 years following the Great Cataclysm, were running dangerously low, raising the concerns of the Matoran of Voya Nui. One type of Burnak, the Protodermis Burnak, lived here. The Lake of Protodermis is connected to Matoran Stronghold via a secret underground passage.

It is unknown whether the lake survived Voya Nui's fall through the sea. If it did, it was later destroyed when the Mata Nui Robot was dismantled following the Battle of Bara Magna.
