The Mountain Hideaway was one of the safest locations for Matoran in the Voya Nui region of the Southern Continent.

History

The Hideaway was located in a mountainous area of the Green Belt and could be entered using a number of entrances. The cavern which held the hideaway also contained stolen supplies and equipment, such as a Zamor Launcher and a very small amount of Energized Protodermis.

When the Piraka's true identity and masquerade as Toa were discovered by Garan, the six Matoran who would go on to make up the Matoran Resistance met here and made plans to defeat the Piraka. When Piraka Avak came to investigate the hideaway, Ga-Matoran warrior Dalu forced him to leave by using her Chargers to increase his attributes to a painful level. When the Toa Inika arrived on Voya Nui and allied themselves with the Matoran Resistance, they were brought here by the Matoran so that they could plan their next move. After the Toa were given Zamor Launchers by Velika, they split up into three teams with the Matoran and left on various missions.

When Teridax was killed in the Battle of Bara Magna, the Matoran Hideaway was severely damaged, and the Matoran evacuated to Spherus Magna. Later, the Matoran Hideaway, along with all other locations in the Matoran Universe, was dismantled.
