Shadow Stealer
"Eventually, his time passed, and Toa became the chosen warriors of Mata Nui. Perhaps he resented that, perhaps he simply could find no place in this new world... but he turned to the Dark Hunters."

"Shadow Stealer" is a Dark Hunter with an illustrious past.
Biography
Over 100,001 years ago, Shadow Stealer was a member of the Hand of Artakha, the predecessor of the Order of Mata Nui. He was considered a hero before the first Toa were created,[1] defending the Matoran building the Great Spirit Robot from various menaces to its construction.[2]
After the Hand of Artakha was disbanded, Shadow Stealer joined the Dark Hunters in order to find a sense of purpose. His first mission took place somewhere far from Odina; the task should have taken many years to complete, but he was able to finish it in mere days.
Since then, Shadow Stealer began a long journey back to Odina. His progress was hindered by several battles against a variety of opponents, including other Dark Hunters, whom he killed. It is rumored that the Brotherhood of Makuta attempted to hire a Dark Hunter to eliminate him, for fear of his mastery over shadow.[1]
After the Matoran Universe was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, Shadow Stealer immigrated to Spherus Magna.[3][4]
Abilities and Traits
Shadow Stealer has the power to absorb shadows and transform them into energy. He can also use shadows as doors, disappearing into one and coming out of another. Using these abilities, he could have swiftly returned to Odina, but he instead slowed his progress to deal with other Dark Hunters and Toa.[1]
Quotes
"I think of him as a plague, striking the weak and making the strong even stronger."
— The Shadowed One, Dark Hunters
