Papa Nihu Reef was a rocky section of land just off the coast of Onu-Wahi.

History

The Papa Nihu Reef came into being when the Great Spirit Mata Nui's camouflage system was accidentally activated during the Great Cataclysm and created the island of Mata Nui.

It was here that Takua began his quest to recover the six Toa Stones that had been hidden on Mata Nui. Later, after he succeeded in summoning the Toa, Onua's Toa Canister washed ashore here. Onua then emerged and made his way to Onu-Koro across the reef.

A circle of eight boulders was located around the center of the reef. Matoran used these stones to engage in target practice. Villagers would hide behind the rocks, occasionally emerging, while one stood in the center and attempted to strike the others with Madu fruit from the trees which grew around the reef.

Numerous Shore Turtles could be found moving about the reef, and it was here that Takua first realized he could use them as stepping stones to get across bodies of water that were too large to cross in a single jump.

It was later wiped from existence by Mata Nui's reawakening.
