Plot Summary
Tahu uses the Kanohi Vahi and slows time around the Bohrok-Kal at the last moment. It appears to work momentarily but the Bohrok-Kal's krana-kal turn silver, and project an impenetrable forcefield as they are so close to success, apparently leaving the Toa with no way to stop them. Onua tests that forcefield by throwing a stone at it, but it does no damage. Gali tells the Toa that they have a link to their symbols and must pool their willpower, so the Toa reach out mentally to their Nuva Symbols, feeding power to the Kal.
The Kal's own powers increase, and they pause, falling prey to their own egos, thinking that with this power, they could rule alongside the Bahrag and clear Mata Nui themselves. But the Kal's powers go out of control, and each is destroyed by their own powers; Nuhvok-Kal's gravity power turns him into a miniature black hole, Pahrak-Kal's plasma power melts the surrounding ground and he is sent plummeting into the ground, Gahlok-Kal attempts to place one symbol on the Nuva Cube, but is crushed by pieces of the Exo-Toa that are pulled by the Kal's magnetic power, Lehvak-Kal is then blasted through the rock and sent into space by its Vacuum power, Tahnok-Kal is imprisoned by lightning, and Kohrak-Kal is disintegrated by intense sound. Only some of the the krana-kal survive.
Speaking amongst themselves, Gali clarifies how her idea worked and Tahu explains how he had the Vahi. With the symbols retrieved, the Toa Nuva's powers return, and they leave the chamber, by an ice staircase made by Kopaka Nuva, and several weeks of peace follow.
Meanwhile, Teridax has regained his power, and releases three Rahkshi to find the Mask of Light.
