Boreas is a Le-Matoran native to Metru Nui.
Biography
Metru Nui
On Metru Nui, Boreas lived and worked in Le-Metru.
He was captured by the Vahki under the command of Makuta Teridax, disguised as Turaga Dume. He was then forced into a Matoran Sphere and weakened as a result but he was later rescued by the Toa Metru and awakened on the shores of Naho Bay on the island of Mata Nui.[5][6]
Mata Nui
Boreas's physical size and strength were reduced by his time in a Matoran Sphere. Towards the beginning of the Dark Time, he participated in the Le-Matoran construction efforts of Le-Koro, led by Turaga Matau, using melted down pieces of the Airships that had been used to transport the Matoran to the island.[7]
In Le-Koro, Boreas became the second commander of the Gukko Bird Force, and was often seen patrolling the skies of Le-Wahi.[8] He also played chimes as a Musician.[4]
During a Rahi attack on Le-Koro, Boreas and a handful of other Le-Matoran were the only ones to evade capture. Turaga Matau and the captured Le-Matoran were freed with the help of Toa Mata Onua.[9]
When the Bohrok attacked during the Bohrok Invasion, Boreas was amongst the many Le-Matoran to have their masks replaced with krana. The Matoran were freed of the krana after Kongu, Tamaru, and the Boxor pilots ambushed the Bohrok and Matoran.[10]
After the Toa Nuva defeated the Bohrok-Kal, Boreas and all the other Matoran were rebuilt into stronger forms resembling the appearance they had before their confinement in Matoran Spheres.[11]
Return to Metru Nui
Boreas later helped in the construction of Boats to assist his and the other Matoran's return to Metru Nui.[12] There, he assisted in the widespread effort to return the city to its former grandeur. He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of Jaller, to force the Turaga to reveal where the Toa Nuva had gone, but he eventually got back to work.[13]
After the death of Teridax in the Battle of Bara Magna, Boreas, along with other Matoran still in the city, emigrated from Metru Nui and the Matoran Universe to live on Spherus Magna.[14][15]
Trivia
- Although Boreas was originally intended to appear in the Mata Nui Online Game II: The Final Chronicle along with five other members of the Gukko Bird Force, he was reduced to a mention due to budget cuts and waning support from LEGO. His appearance remained unknown until it was revealed by Peter Mack twenty years later, which also revealed him to appear in the original Mata Nui Online Game. Peter Mack also revealed that Boreas was intended to serve as second Commander of the Gukko Bird Force.[3]
- Boreas is a Greek god of the north wind.
