Taiki is a Le-Matoran native to Metru Nui.
Biography
Metru Nui
Before the Great Cataclysm, Taiki resided and worked in Le-Metru. He was captured by the Vahki under the command of Makuta Teridax, disguised as Turaga Dume. He was then forced into a Matoran Sphere but was later rescued by the Toa Metru and awakened on the shores of Naho Bay on the island of Mata Nui.[2][3]
Mata Nui
Due to the effects of the Matoran Sphere, Taiki's body was reduced in size and he forgot memories of his life on Metru Nui. After arriving on Mata Nui, Taiki worked for the construction of Le-Koro, which was directed by Matau and utilized melted pieces from the Airships which the Toa had use to travel to Mata Nui with the Matoran.[4] On Mata Nui, Taiki became a Gukko Bird Force pilot, and was usually on duty patrolling the skies of Le-Wahi.[5]
It is unknown if Taiki was captured during the Rahi attack on Le-Koro. Matau and the captured Le-Matoran were freed with the help of Onua.[6]
When the Bohrok attempted to remove all life on Mata Nui, Taiki was one of the Le-Matoran to be captured by the Bohrok and have his Kanohi replaced by a krana. The krana was taken off later when Kongu and Tamaru led them into an ambush by the Boxors, defeating the Bohrok and freeing the village.[7]
Later, after the Bohrok-Kal had been defeated, Taiki and his fellow Matoran were rebuilt into more physically powerful forms.[8]
Return to Metru Nui
Taiki later helped in the construction of Boats to facilitate his, and the other Matoran's return to Metru Nui, where he and the other Matoran began reconstruction work.[9] He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of Jaller, to force the Turaga to reveal where the Toa Nuva had gone, but he eventually got back to work.[10]
After the defeat of Teridax, Taiki abandoned Metru Nui, which had been severely damaged, to live on Spherus Magna.[11][12]
Trivia
- Although Taiki was originally intended to appear in the Mata Nui Online Game II: The Final Chronicle along with five other members of the Gukko Bird Force, he was reduced to a mention due to budget cuts and waning support from LEGO. His appearance remained unknown until it was revealed by Peter Mack twenty years later.[13]
- Taiki can mean "atmosphere" in Japanese.
