Shu is a Le-Matoran native to Metru Nui.
Biography
Metru Nui
Prior to the Great Cataclysm, Shu lived and worked in Le-Metru. He was captured by the Vahki under the command of Makuta Teridax, disguised as Turaga Dume. He was then forced into a Matoran Sphere but was later rescued by the Toa Metru and awakened on the shores of Naho Bay on the island of Mata Nui.[2][3]
Mata Nui
Shu was physically weakened after he was imprisoned in a Matoran Sphere and lost his memories of Metru Nui. Shortly after arriving on Mata Nui, he assisted in the construction of Le-Koro, following Matau's direction and using reused pieces from the Airships in which the Toa had transported the Matoran.[4] Shu became a Gukko Bird Force pilot on Mata Nui and typically patrolled the skies of Le-Wahi.[5]
It is unknown if Shu was captured during the Rahi attack on Le-Koro. Matau and the captured Le-Matoran were freed with the help of Onua.[6]
Shu was among the Le-Matoran to be captured by the Bohrok during the Bohrok Invasion. Following their capture, the Matoran had their Kanohi replaced with krana. The krana were later removed following the swarm's defeat by the Boxors.[7]
Shu was later rebuilt, along with the other Matoran, into sturdier forms.[8]
Return to Metru Nui
Shu helped construct Boats to assist his and the other Matoran's return to Metru Nui.[9] He also helped in the mass effort to rebuild the damaged city. He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of Jaller, to force the Turaga to reveal where the Toa Nuva had gone, but he eventually got back to work.[10]
Following the death of Teridax, Shu left Metru Nui to live on Spherus Magna with other former residents of the Matoran Universe.[11][12]
Trivia
- Although Shu was originally intended to appear in the Mata Nui Online Game II: The Final Chronicle along with five other members of the Gukko Bird Force, he was reduced to a mention due to budget cuts and waning support from LEGO. His appearance remained unknown until it was revealed by Peter Mack twenty years later.[13]
- Shu is an Egyptian god of air.
