Azibo is an Onu-Matoran native to Metru Nui.

Biography

Metru Nui

On Metru Nui, Azibo lived and worked in Onu-Metru.

He was captured by the Vahki under the command of Makuta Teridax, disguised as Turaga Dume. He was then forced into a Matoran Sphere but was later rescued by the Toa Metru and awakened on the shores of Naho Bay on the island of Mata Nui.[3][4]

Mata Nui

Azibo's size and physical strength decreased and he forgot his life on Metru Nui because of his imprisonment in a Matoran Sphere. Directed by Turaga Whenua, he assisted in the construction of Onu-Koro shortly after their arrival on Mata Nui, using pieces from the disassembled Airships used by the Toa to reach Mata Nui with the Matoran.[5] In Onu-Koro, Azibo was one of Chief Mamoru's Prospectors. Mamoru held him in very high esteem, saying that he was his best Prospector and was very talented. Azibo was well-versed in the Principle of Prosperity.[6]

Azibo and the other Onu-Matoran briefly vacated Onu-Koro upon the Bohrok's attack on the village.[7] He was rebuilt into a stronger form following the defeat of the Bohrok-Kal.[8] He later explained the nature of Prosperity to Hahli after she retrieved his Sluice that had fallen in a crevice.[6]

Azibo was evacuated from Onu-Koro during the Rahkshi attack along with the other Matoran.[9][10]

Return to Metru Nui

Later Azibo helped in building Boats to return to Metru Nui.[11] When he and the other Matoran reached, they began reconstructing parts of the city which had been damaged previously. He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of Jaller, to force the Turaga to reveal where the Toa Nuva had gone, but he eventually got back to work.[12]

Subsequently, Azibo left the city to migrate to Spherus Magna, upon the defeat of Teridax in the Battle of Bara Magna.[13][14]

Trivia

  • Azibo is an Egyptian name meaning "Earth."
  • In Mata Nui Online Game, Takua meets a similar Onu-Matoran Prospector wearing a Kanohi Matatu, with a color scheme identical to Piatra. Peter Mack did not remember Azibo having a role in Mata Nui Online Game and as far as he remembered, Azibo was not mentioned in developement earlier than Mata Nui Online Game 2: The Final Chronicle.[15]
