Plot Summary

The comic starts with Makuta Teridax, who introduces himself and his Rahi servants. He then begins to watch the Toa Mata as they attempt to overcome his minions. Lewa is about to die at the jaws of a Muaka, when he catches a vine to stop his fall. Onua then comes to his rescue as he drags the creature underground. Elsewhere, Gali is cornered by two Nui-Jaga, but is saved by a wall of fire created by Tahu. But Tahu is too late to warn her about the Tarakava behind her, and the Toa of Water is knocked unconscious and thrown into the water below. She then receives a vision of two massive beings, the Toa Kaita, who tell her about how the Toa will become them, and how united, they can triumph over Makuta. Then the vision ends, and Gali is washed ashore. Tahu then comforts her and tells her that they must meet up with the other Toa.

At the meeting, the Toa decide that it is wisest to work together after all. The meeting is then interrupted by an eruption of a nearby volcano, as Teridax decides to attack while the Toa are in one place. Lewa carries Onua up so that the Toa of Earth can stop the lava by creating a trench, while Gali is faced by a Muaka. She kicks it over to Kopaka, who freezes it. Two Tarakava suddenly spring from the waters behind Tahu, but are defeated by the combined forces of Pohatu and the Toa of Fire.

Teridax then attacks Tahu with a great wave of sand, which the Toa heats to turn into glass. The glass wall is promptly broken by two Nui-Rama, who crash through the glass and lift the startled Tahu into the sky. The Rahi then let go, leaving him to fall to his doom. However, Tahu manages to heat the air to slow his fall sufficiently so that Onua can safely catch him.

Kopaka and Gali are confronted by two Nui-Jaga, and Gali uses her elemental powers to blast the creatures into the depths of the sea. Onua then takes out three Nui-Rama with a huge boulder, defeating the last of the Rahi. The Toa are victorious.

After the battle, the Toa conclude their meeting, saying that they will stand together against the forces of the Makuta until Mata Nui is free.
