Podu is a Po-Matoran native to Metru Nui.

Biography

Metru Nui

On Metru Nui, Podu lived and worked in Po-Metru. He was captured by the Vahki under the command of Makuta Teridax, disguised as Turaga Dume. He was then forced into a Matoran Sphere, but was later rescued by the Toa Metru and awakened on the shores of Naho Bay on the island of Mata Nui.[3][4]

Mata Nui

Podu was reduced in size and strength physically by the effects of the Matoran Spheres and he also forgot his previous life on Metru Nui. He participated in the construction of Po-Koro under Turaga Onewa's supervision, using material from Airships in which the Toa had traveled to Mata Nui with the Matoran.[5]

While practicing his kolhii skills in Po-Wahi, Podu became trapped under several large boulders due to a wild kick. When Takua spoke with Podu's training partner while passing through Po-Wahi on his way to Po-Koro, he was informed of the trapped Po-Matoran's situation, and asked to assist. Takua tossed three rocks out of the way, then rolled a larger one from atop Podu, freeing him. The sore but grateful Podu gifted Takua an Amana Volo Sphere as thanks for rescuing him.[2]

Podu was evacuated to Ga-Koro after the likelihood of Tahnok swarms defeating them during the Attack on Po-Koro became imminent during the Bohrok Invasion. When the Pahrak swarms threatened the Matoran in Ga-Koro, Podu withstood the assault along with all the other Matoran present before the Bahrag were defeated by the Toa Mata. He later returned with the rest of the Po-Matoran to Po-Koro.[6][7][8] Later, during the Rebuilding, Podu was rebuilt into a stronger form, like that he had had on Metru Nui.[9]

Return to Metru Nui

Podu contributed to the construction of Boats to facilitate his and the other Matoran's return to Metru Nui.[10] He later participated in the mass effort to rebuilt the city. He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of Jaller, to force the Turaga to reveal where the Toa Nuva had gone, but he eventually got back to work until the usage of the Staff of Artakha restored it to its former glory.[11]

After the Battle of Bara Magna, the Matoran of Metru Nui, including Podu, evacuated the city and took up residence on the planet of Spherus Magna.[12][13]
