The set was released in 2005 and comes with 500 pieces. The majority of the parts originate from BIONICLE sets released between 2001 and 2003, and none are exclusive to the set. Among the parts are a total of 100 2-length axles without grooves.

The parts are packaged in a clear tub with a black lid.

The set was available through Toys "R" Us in the UK.

The set contains 30 Kanohi and 4 Kanohi Nuva masks: 2 sand blue Great Akaku, 1 dark orange Great Kakama, 7 transparent blue Great Kaukau, 4 orange Great Pakari, 1 purple Great Pakari, 3 orange Noble Huna, 8 dark gray Noble Matatu, 4 black Noble Ruru, 1 blue Kaukau Nuva, 1 green Miru Nuva, and 2 black Pakari Nuva. It also comes with 4 different Bamboo Disks, featuring depictions of the Kanohi Akaku, Hau, Miru, and Pakari, and 5 krana in random shapes: 1 in purple, and 2 each in black and yellow.
