Since its inception, the Magazines produced by the LEGO Group were a key pillar in the promotion and advertisement of BIONICLE's sets and story.

LEGO Publications

LEGO Magazine

The LEGO Magazine was a major medium for BIONICLE throughout the series' run and was overseen for many years by Greg Farshtey. The magazine featured exclusive spreads, lore, contests, and other content in its bimonthly issues. It was also the primary mode of distribution for BIONICLE's comics.

Shop at Home

Like the LEGO Magazine, the Shop at Home catalogues were LEGO publications covering all their lines, featuring some pages for each series. During BIONICLE's run, these advertised various sets and merchandise for the line. Product codes found in the magazine could be used on the corresponding site to pull up specific items.

BIONICLE: The Official Magazine

BIONICLE: The Official Magazine was an official publication released in Germany and France from 2001-2008 to promote the BIONICLE series. Many of the issues consisted of one or more of the official comics, and several issues contained collectibles or other merchandise.

BIONICLE Magazine

The BIONICLE Magazine was a magazine released to promote the second generation of BIONICLE and was released in various European markets. Each entry contained a polybag with pieces for a small animal set.

Non-LEGO Publications

Nintendo Power

Nintendo Power and Nintendo Power Advance both featured extensive spreads for BIONICLE: Quest for the Toa which contained some exclusive story and lore for the game.
