Four years ago, the world of BIONICLE exploded on to the scene with exciting new sets and a powerful storyline! Let's take a look back at some of the most famous BIONICLE models. (Note: Other than the Visorak, the sets on this page are from BIONICLE's past, so don't expect to find them at your local store.

2001: The Toa

When Kopaka emerged from his canister in BIONICLE #1, a new legend was born. The original six Toa - Tahu, Gali, Pohatu, Onua, Lewa, and Kopaka - featured TECHNIC pieces and collectible Kanohi masks, each with its own unique power.

2002: The Bohrok

Wake one, you wake them all... The Bohrok rampaged into stores early in 2002 and rapidly became some of the most popular BIONICLE sets ever. Each Bohrok model carried a soft plastic krana in its head, which could be hurled at enemies. The Bohrok story would continue into 2003 with the introduction of the Bohrok-Kal.

2002: The Toa Nuva

When the six Toa were exposed to energized protodermis, they emerged as Toa Nuva, with more armor, greater power, and a lot of attitude. Their Kanohi Nuva masks and new tools made them must haves for BIONICLE fans!

2003: The Rahkshi

Fierce and frightening, the Rahkshi crawled from the lair of Makuta in 2003 and on television screens in the BIONICLE: Mask of Light DVD. Their bizzare look, parasitic kraata, and general aura of evil made them the most memorable of all BIONICLE villains.

2004: The Toa Metru

BIONICLE went back to the past to reveal the history of the wise Turaga, who once were untried heroes named Toa Metru. These sets heralded the two-year Metru Nui story arc and featured Great Mask versions of the traditional Turaga masks.

2005: The Visorak

Vicious spider-creatures, the Visorak are the newest menace in the BIONICLE universe. Featuring mandibles that snap shut and Rhotuka spinners that can be launched up to 50 feet in the air, they have already captured Metru Nui... and the Toa are next! (You can find the Visorak weaving their webs on store shelves now.)
