McDonald's
In 2006, LEGO once again partnered with McDonald's to distribute toys representing smaller versions of the sets from that year. Although this wasn't the first McDonald's BIONICLE promotion--McDonald's had distributed the McToran sets in 2001--these were the first series in a new type of toy. The 2006 BIONICLE happy meals were more traditional action figures, unable to be be built or dismantled, and featured one or two basic play features.
Nestle
Exclusively in 2006, Nestle partnered with Lego to produce BIONICLE toys to include in their cereals.[140]
Six buildable figures were produced, three of the Toa Inika and three of the Piraka. The Toa Inika figures represented Jaller, Hahli, and Kongu and contained a miniature Toa tool and spinner resembling a Rhotuka spinner (but functioning like a top). The Piraka figures represented Avak, Reidak, and Thok and could hold a disk launcher that fired special disks. Interestingly, the Toa Inika figures more closely resembled early concept art for the characters in 2006, while their tools resembled Tahu's Magma Sword, Matau's Fang Blade, and Nuparu's Laser Drill.[141]
Nesquik cereals in Poland, Mexico and Spain featured six Battle Spinners featuring Vezok, Hakann, Reidak, Matoro, Hewkii, and Kongu. These tops could be spun at cardboard targets of members of the opposite team. Two cardboard cutouts of the Toa Inika were included with each Piraka spinner, and two cutouts of the Piraka were included with each Toa Inika spinner.
