The krana-kal are the driving force behind the Bohrok-Kal threat. Intelligent, powerful, able to plan strategy and communicate with other species, the krana-kal bring a new dimension of danger to Mata Nui! Although there are only six Bohrok-Kal, each possesses eight krana-kal. Some of the krana-kal are so specialized that they are only of use at certain times and in certain places. Replacement krana-kal are carried by the Bohrok Va, who serve the Bohrok-Kal.

Ca-Kal

This krana is linked to the minds of the Bahrag and can sense their presence, but its range is very limited.

Za-Kal

Able to communicate telepathically with the other krana-kal. Krana za-kal also have the limited ability to read other minds and sense strong emotions in the immediate area.

Vu-Kal

Grants great speed to its Bohrok-Kal, whether on land or in the air.

Xa-Kal

The most important of the [sic] krana kal. To accomplish their mission, the [sic] Bohrok Kal must bring a krana xa-kal into actual physical contact with one of the Bahrag.

Ja-Kal

Possesses a radar sense that enables it to detect distant obstacles. It also magnifies all of the other senses of the Bohrok-Kal, particularly hearing and smell.

Bo-Kal

Able to see in the dark and to see through most substances. The floors and walls of the Mata Nui underground block this x-ray vision.

Su-Kal

This krana gifts the [sic] Bohrok Kal with tremendous strength and endurance, including limited resistance to heat and cold.

Yo-Kal

Can sense stress points in the earth, allowing it to tunnel through areas of least resistance. It can also sense any underground movement.

The Secret of Silver

Along with their incredible might, the Bohrok-Kal hide a secret that may spell disaster for the Toa Nuva and Mata Nui. When the opportunity to free the Bahrag is within their reach, the krana-kal transform to silver and weave a field of energy around the Bohrok-Kal. This force field protects the Bohrok-Kal from any physical harm from outside, insuring that nothing can stop their mission!
