HarperCollins Children's Books published several activity and guide books exploring the world of BIONICLE in the 2006 and 2007 storyline. The 2006 instalments cover the invasion of Piraka on the island of Voya Nui, the formation of the Matoran Resistance and the comming of the Toa Inika. The 2007 instalments follow the events to the underwater city of Mahri Nui where the fight between the aquatic Toa Mahri and the Barraki warlords for the Mask of Life takes place. The series includes large format books (280×220 mm), as well as much smaller pocket-sized mini-guides (140×100 mm). Each of the books (with the exception of the Activity Booklet) featured an exclusive Kanoka Club code.

In 2006 and 2007, HarperCollins Children's Books has also re-published the BIONICLE Chronicles and the first four instalments of the BIONICLE Legends series respecively, in the United Kingdom.

Adventures in The Pit Colouring Activity Book is a large format 32-two page activity book published on 6th of August, 2007. The book includes coloring pages and games.

Beat the Barraki Activity Book

Beat the Barraki Activity Book is a large format 24-page activity book published on 6th of August, 2007. It includes puzzles and activities to help the Toa Mahri defeat the Barraki and find the Mask of Life.

Mini-Guides

A series of four 64-page pocket-sized mini-guide books were released on 4th of December, 2006 and available in some European countries. Three more instalments were released on 6th of August, 2007.

• BIONICLE: Piraka - The first book in the series. It contains statistics, information, and trivia relating to the Piraka.
• BIONICLE: Toa Inika - The second book in the series. The book provides biographies of all the Toa Inika, including their origins, their skills, tactics and favorite sayings.
• BIONICLE: Matoran - The third book in the series. It contains the character traits, skills, tools and history of the Matoran Resistance members.
• BIONICLE: Voya Nui - The fourth and final book in the 2006 series. The book contains information about Voya Nui and other locations.
• BIONICLE: Barraki - The fifth book, a continuation of the Mini-Guide series in 2007. It contains charecter descrptions, statistics and favorite strategies of the Barraki.
• BIONICLE: Toa Mahri - The sixth book in the Mini-Guide series, continuing into 2007. It contains character descriptions, strengths, statistics and favorite strategies of the Toa Mahri.
• BIONICLE: Mahri Nui - The seventh book in the Mini-Guide series, continuing into 2007. It inlcudes details on Mahri Nui's geography, its inhabitants and the battles taking place in and around the sunken city.
