Set 1388 Huki was a promotional set released in September 2001 portraying Hewkii, who was then known as Huki. It specifically portrays him as he appeared after his diminishment from being inside a Matoran Sphere.
Set Information
The set consists of eight pieces. At least four different versions of the 1388 polybag were released.
It was originally included in McDonald's Happy Meals in September 2001 in the US as one of the six "Tohunga" sets. Each Happy Meal came with one of the six sets, randomly selected. The packaging labeled the set as number 1 out of 6, and and had the recommended age of 4+.
The set was also released through McDonald's in Australia during 2002.[1] The packaging of this version featured a caution label in place of the warnings found on the American version. It also did not contain a piece count, and featured a different Happy Meals logo.
It was then released through various retailers in European countries, including France, during 2002.[2] This version did not contain the McDonald's branding, or the warning labels and piece count found on the American packaging, and had a recommended age of 7+ instead of the 4+ found on the McDonald's releases.
It was also made available as one of twelve sets given away for free in C1000 supermarkets in the Netherlands during 2003.[3] Much like the international release, this version had a recommended age of 7+ and lacked the McDonald's co-branding in the lower-right corner, which was instead replaced by the LEGO Logo. It also lacked the numbering found on the prior releases. The instructions of this version advertised the Rahkshi.
An identical set, 40551 Huki, was released under a partnership between LEGO and Voira in Lithuania. This set was packaged in a box, rather than a polybag like the McDonald's release of the set.[4]
By combining pieces from Huki with 1389 Onepu and 1391 Jala, one can build a Matoran Kaita. Huki can also be combined with 1389 Onepu, 1390 Maku, 1391 Jala, 1392 Kongu, and 1393 Matoro to create a Matoran Nui.
Features
Huki's arms can be pulled back and released, making them shoot back forward. His right hand is capable of holding a Bamboo Disk, and doing this while he is holding the disk causes him to throw it. The disk could also be stored on his back.
Collectibles
Huki wears a dark orange Kakama. Also included is a Bamboo Disk featuring Pohatu's Kanohi Kakama and the mask's name.

Trivia
- Despite Huki being from Po-Koro, the Matoran letters on the Voira box read as "Ga Koro" and the box artwork highlights Ko-Wahi.
