Air Launchers were weapons used by the Matoran of Mahri Nui to fire Solidified Air Bubbles.

History

These launchers were invented by a Le-Matoran scientist inspired by the hydruka's natural means of defense. They were originally intended for quick transport as a replacement for swimming, but after a fatal test in which the scientist accidentally launched himself into the arms of a Tarakava, the invention was turned into a weapon. Solidified balls of air were shot at a target and then dispersed back into gas. Since air is toxic to underwater creatures, the weapons were very effective at defending the city.

When the Matoran of Mahri Nui rejoined their fellow villagers of Voya Nui, they stopped using Air Launchers as they no longer lived underwater.

Example Usage

In City of the Lost, the Matoran of Mahri Nui used Air Launchers to defend their home from Venom Eels and Ehlek.

Air Launchers can be found in the Dekar, Defilak, Morak, and Thulox sets, the four small sets of 2007. Physically, they are built from the same parts and in the same way as a Zamor Launcher.
