Instructions |
Set 1390 Maku was a promotional set released in September 2001 portraying Macku, who was then known as Maku. It specifically portrays her as she appeared after her diminishment from being inside a Matoran Sphere.
Set Information
The set consists of eight pieces. At least three different versions of the set has been released.
It was originally included in McDonald's Happy Meals in September 2001 in the US as one of the six "Tohunga" sets. Each Happy Meal came with one of the six sets, randomly selected. The packaging labeled the set as number 3 out of 6, and and had the recommended age of 4+.
The set was also released through McDonald's in Australia during 2002.[1] The packaging of this version featured a caution label in place of the warnings found on the American version. It also did not contain a piece count, and featured a different Happy Meals logo.
It was then released through various retailers in European countries, including France, during 2002.[2] This version did not contain the McDonald's branding, or the warning labels and piece count found on the American packaging, and had a recommended age of 7+ instead of the 4+ found on the McDonald's releases.
By combining pieces from Maku with 1392 Kongu and 1393 Matoro, one can build a Matoran Kaita. Maku can also be combined with 1388 Huki, 1389 Onepu, 1391 Jala, 1392 Kongu, and 1393 Matoro to create a Matoran Nui.
Features
Maku's arms can be pulled back and released, making them shoot back forward. Her right hand is capable of holding a Bamboo Disk, and doing this while she is holding the disk causes her to throw it. The disk could also be stored on her back.
Collectibles
Maku wears a blue Noble Huna. Also included is a Bamboo Disk featuring Gali's Kanohi Kaukau and the mask's name.
Reception
1390 Maku scored a 76 on Brick Insights, indicating mixed or average reviews.
Trivia
- Some copies of the 2002 international release of 1390 Maku erroneously contain the Bamboo Disk from set 1388 Huki, which is printed with the Kanohi Kakama instead of the Kaukau.
