Instructions |
Set 1393 Matoro was a promotional set released in September 2001 portraying Matoro. It specifically portrays him as he appeared after his diminishment from being inside a Matoran Sphere.
Set Information
The set consists of eight pieces. At least four different versions of the set has been released.
It was originally included in McDonald's Happy Meals in September 2001 in the US as one of the six "Tohunga" sets. Each Happy Meal came with one of the six sets, randomly selected. The packaging labeled the set as number 2 out of 6, and and had the recommended age of 4+.
The set was also released through McDonald's in Australia during 2002.[1] The packaging of this version featured a caution label in place of the warnings found on the American version. It also did not contain a piece count, and featured a different Happy Meals logo.
It was then released through various retailers in European countries, including France, during 2002.[2] This version did not contain the McDonald's branding, or the warning labels and piece count found on the American packaging, and had a recommended age of 7+ instead of the 4+ found on the McDonald's releases.
The set was also given away for free in C1000 supermarkets in Holland during 2003 with the same set number, alongside eleven other sets.[3] This version of the polybag had the numbering and the recommended age of 7+ in left top corner, replaced the McDonald's branding with the LEGO logo in the right bottom corner, and the instructions advertised the Rahkshi.
By combining pieces from Matoro with 1390 Maku and 1392 Kongu, one can build a Matoran Kaita. Matoro can also be combined with 1388 Huki, 1389 Onepu, 1390 Maku, 1391 Jala, and 1392 Kongu to create a Matoran Nui.
Features
Matoro's arms can be pulled back and released, making them shoot back forward. His right hand is capable of holding a Bamboo Disk, and doing this while he is holding the disk causes him to throw it. The disk could also be stored on his back.
Collectibles
Matoro wears a sand blue Akaku. Also included is a Bamboo Disk featuring Kopaka's Kanohi Akaku and the mask's name.
Reception
1393 Matoro scored a 69 on Brick Insights, indicating poor reviews.
