Metru Nui Explorer is a bonus feature included in both the second and third BIONICLE Movies, in which the player explores the island of Metru Nui. The explorer allows the viewer to browse short biographies of characters, and like its predecessor, the Mata Nui Explorer, it features a predominant character who acts as the narrator for the feature. In BIONICLE 2: Legends of Metru Nui, Toa Metru Nuju acts as the narrator, whilst Toa Hordika Whenua narrates in the BIONICLE 3: Web of Shadows version.

Legends of Metru Nui

Narrated by Nuju, the player can, using the DVD player remote, choose areas to explore by selecting different sections of Metru Nui via icons on the screen. The screen is split up into the shape of a Hexagon, with images of the six Metru forming the hexagonal shape and an image of the Coliseum at the middle. The player can, using their remote, select the different regions listed.

Once the player has selected a region, they can then select a character of their choice. Upon their selections, Nuju would describe the character selected. The game itself is similar to its predecessor, the Mata Nui Explorer, and when it is complete, the player may return to the main selection screen and pick another region to explore.

Web of Shadows

The Metru Nui Explorer was also included in Web of Shadows, although it is even less diverse than its predecessor. In this version, Whenua serves as the narrator, and the player may only select the individual characters listed, which include Roodaka, Sidorak, Makuta Teridax, the six Rahaga, and a Keelerak.
