The Power Lies Beneath! When the Toa are exposed to the strange energies of protodermis, they are transformed into the mighty Toa Nuva! With new powers, new armor, and new tools, the Toa Nuva are fully prepared for any threat to their island home. But will the power of the Toa Nuva save Mata Nui... or shatter it forever? Ruler of the air! Lewa Nuva lives in the jungles near Kauae Bay, keeping watch on Mata Nui from above. His swords can be used to clear obstacles – and when they are attached to his arms and legs, they form katana that allow him to soar above the island! Turn the wheel on his back to move his arms. |
Set Information
The Lewa Nuva set was officially released in September of 2002 as one of the six Toa Nuva sets. The set consists of 38 pieces.[note 1]
A promotional comic was included with at least some copies of the set.
Using parts from build Lewa Nuva, 8570 Gali Nuva, and 8571 Kopaka Nuva, one could create the combiner model Wairuha Nuva. Instructions for the model were included at the ends of the manuals for the three sets.
The set was included in the collection set K8566 Toa Nuva Hero Kit, through which it was first made available 2 months ahead of the set's official release,[2] as well as K8572 Toa Nuva Collection
Features
Turning a gear in Lewa Nuva's back causes him to swing his Air Katana up and down. Unlike the other Toa Nuva, Lewa Nuva did not feature an alternate configuration for his weapons, but could be posed to hold his blades as wings for flying. The set could be configured with both arms connected to the gear system, or with one arm being able to be rotated freely using an axle-pin. In the latter case, a left-over 3-length axle and small gear could be used to lock the gear function.
In addition to the parts necessary to build Lewa Nuva, the set included three ball pieces which were used in the Wairuha Nuva combiner model.
The set's canister was not given storyline role. Much like those of the Toa Mata sets, the canister lid could be used for displaying masks.
Collectibles
Lewa Nuva wears a green Miru Nuva.
