Hi... -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 16:11, 22 April 2012 (PDT) Well hi! Kaizx Hey don't you remember me Meiko? It's me Kaizx from the Ninjago wiki. Kaizx
Hey
Not that I'm trying to mettle with the system or anything; I'm just very uninformed, but did Swert unlock the promotion function for a time so you could promote yourself? --Vartemp 11:14, 25 June 2013 (PDT)
- No, I unlocked it for a brief second, but put it in a PHP if function for just my login name. :3 --Meiko 15:31, 26 June 2013 (PDT)
Meiko was meant to upgrade the wiki so we could add a captcha to the registration process so we could avoid spambots. But then again it's Meiko. ---The Joker
- Thing is I can't update the wiki because Swert's on Dreamhost, and there isn't a root FTP or SSH login I can use because of that. --Meiko 15:31, 26 June 2013 (PDT)
I've noticed that all those cool skins you had are all gone now. what's up with that? Vahki Keerahk
Characters page bug
Hey. When i'm going into a characters page there's a two navigation bars on the top of page. --Raph (talk) 20:59, 27 June 2013 (PDT)
- I know the issue there, it's a simple enough fix but it has to wait until Metax signs on next. -- Owner (talk|contribs)
- >implying I don't know how to fix it --Meiko 22:12, 27 June 2013 (PDT)
Baterra
Baterra page has also a glitch....how may it be fixed? I want to help but just....want not to mess any page.--Raph (talk) 21:16, 27 June 2013 (PDT)
- It's because some of the table attributes used in Template:Robot (and many other templates) such as "align" are old and we upgraded to a version of MediaWiki that doesn't support them anymore (a similar thing happened to TNW a while back). The newer templates being deployed, such as Template:Toa, do not use those attributes and work fine. All it means is that upgrading the templates is a bit higher priority than it was before. -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 21:24, 27 June 2013 (PDT)
This Page...
has a lot of tables and stuff that are apparently affected by the tables attributes upgrade... I will probably have to wait until I get home before I can start effecting the changes, but how should one go about fixing this sort of thing. Importantly, can it be done in a way where I don't have to change the coding of the tables themselves, as the aim of the page is to preserve them with as little change as possible. Also of importance to me is my formatting page. I'd like to make sure it is compatible with the new stuff. And before you give me an explanation with the assumption I understand every line of code on my pages...let me assure you I don't. The Code page was made with serious help from SK and Danwojo, and the History page is full of stuff I ripped from other sources and barely understand. ζω·τωμανα•
- Well, it would probably have to be re-done. It's not too hard to fix the change in MediaWiki 1.18+ where
align="x"
does no longer work, you can trystyle="float:x;"
, since that's the closest it comes to that. Since you didn't make it, I might be able to help; I'm not quite sure what it looked like before. I've worked with Pur and Dan for a long time, so I know how they each like to code things. Also, it will likely need to be redone anyways, since I'm going to be switching over to the vector skin as the default. --Meiko 08:29, 28 June 2013 (PDT)
Ugh, Vector, gross. I can probably find a screencap or two of the look, but it may just have to wait until I get home or have sure access to a real computer. The most important page is the History page. Does the align issue extend to image tags? I guess it is in all code tags...joys. So I can do style="float: left/right/center"? Or do I have to do something weird for center, since center tends to be weird? ζω·τωμανα•
- http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_float.asp It's not going to be stock vector, it's going to be vector-based, so it'll just be the core from SkinTemplate.php --Meiko 11:00, 28 June 2013 (PDT)
Maybe you should try running that one by the bossman first... Okay, I'm gathering from that page that I can't use float to center something...I think...ζω·τωμανα•
- Yeah, there's no float:center. You might be able to do
style="margin-right:auto;margin-left:auto;"
or the shorthand versionstyle="margin:0 auto 0 auto;"
depending on what your code is. I can take a look if you want. Also, Meiko, if you backed up the skins from TCW there should be one called "test" or something similar that uses the Vector framework (so the skin file just imports the Vector code) that would probably work fine here. It might save you some work. -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 13:29, 28 June 2013 (PDT)
- Bioran's got the server backups. All I have is the database backups. I could try to get the skins from him. --Meiko 19:04, 28 June 2013 (PDT)
I think I would rather appreciate it if someone that knows what they're doing with WikiCode could take a look at my code page. We can PM through BZP for contact about it, but there is something that isn't working anymore. ζω·τωμανα•
- I could look at it, but it depends what skin(s) you want compatibility with. Feel free to PM me on BZPower. I'd see the quicker than here. --Meiko 22:48, 8 July 2013 (PDT)
Where are all the skins?
So, there are only three skins now that the update has been done. Is that a bug that needs to be fixed or did BS01 just need to get rid of a few things for space and skins were unlucky enough to go? (The preceding unsigned comment was made by TNT-DJ Vezon)
We got rid of them to make the upgrade easier, but they should be back up soon. ---The Joker
Gotchya. Carry on.I'm TNT. (talk) 10:19, 29 June 2013 (PDT)
Templates
Why are templates all messed up? (The preceding unsigned comment was made by Lord Nektann)
- Scroll up on this talk page. Morris the Mata Nui Cow already explained it. --Meiko 15:09, 1 July 2013 (PDT)
Vector.js
Could you please change “WP:TW” into “wikipedia:WP:TW” on User:Meiko/vector.js? That would make one wanted page less. --Fippede 17:02, 14 May 2014 (CEST)
Welcoming
Hey. Just a suggestion. You might wanna put just {{welcome}} on a new talkpage when welcoming someone. It puts a lot less coding on the page, so it would make it smaller. Less archiving y'know? --Vartemp 12:34, 25 August 2014 (CEST)
- I guess it's just habit since substitution is generally how any talk page message should be transcluded. Simply transcluding the template on the user's talk page doesn't guarantee the message will be the same as when it was left for them, which generally is something you'd want to avoid if you archive it. If someone changes Template:Welcome, then the message everyone has in their talk page archive ends up not being the same message they were originally given. That's why I substitute the welcome template. :) What I've just explained is written out here if you'd like to see more. --Meiko (talk) 20:37, 26 August 2014 (CEST)
- Got it. No big deal. I guess I'm just used to transcluding it, like most people here do. --Vartemp 20:41, 26 August 2014 (CEST)
Maintenance Issues
You're probably aware of this, but the templates are messed up again; they all default to the first tab and won't open the other(s). --Angel Bob (talk) 00:58, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
- Which templates are you talking about specifically? I'm looking at the infobox template on Tahu (Generation 1) and it seems to work fine. If these are the templates you're talking about, none of the maintenance that's going on has or will have effected these templates. --Meiko (talk) 02:07, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
Special:BlockList seems to be broken. Dunno if it's been that way or if it broke recently. -Shine 02:56, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
- Doesn't seem to be broken for me or anyone else I asked. :/ --Meiko (talk) 03:28, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
- You didn't ask me >:
- (it's broken for me) -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 03:29, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
- FWIW the first two pages work for me, but when I go past that I get a database error. -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 05:11, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
- The main issue right now is that for some reason the server is, or at least thinks it's running PHP 5.2, which technically modern versions of MediaWiki can't run on. As a result, I can't run any maintenance scripts to fix the database. The problem right now is that it seems PHP 5.4 is installed on the server but isn't working properly. I can't do much to fix it either since the server is a shared VPS rather than a dedicated server, so without the root-level access I can't uninstall or install anything myself really. --Meiko (talk) 05:14, 13 October 2014 (CEST)

Meeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiko.
Okay. Whenever the new Toa pages are edited, Makuta is turned into Makuta for some reason. Also, that warning about 'Are you really, really sure you want to leave this page?' pops up every time I attempt to preview or actually post my edit. Also, can you look into restoring the 'someone is already editing this page' warning please? --Master of the Rahkshi Ask, and ye shall receive. Eventually. 17:35, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
- That warning would be fantastic.
- The page name thing is probably from (no offense to whoever wrote it) poor writing... Automatically replaces the first instance of "____ (Generation _)" with "____" on any page, including editable text. When it should just be limited to article names, however that would be accomplished. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
Don't know if I'm magical or what...
But the site seems to glitch when I get onto it:
Just reporting an oddity. ζox• Histories
- It doesn't happen on any other pages in that skin right? Definitely a bug somewhere in the CSS; looks almost like an unclosed tag somewhere. I'll look into it a bit soon. Also did this bug just start occurring recently? --Meiko (talk) 04:14, 15 November 2014 (CET)
Yesh, it hasn't happened until a couple days before I posted the preceeding, and it doesn't happen on any other page that I know of except for the Logon page where it is always plain-skinned. ζox• Histories
- I've noticed it consistently on Special:Preferences ever since Metrolook was removed (I imagine some other things were changed then too), but it looks like it's happening on Special:Login too. There's normally a script tag for load.php at the top of the body but it's not there when I load Special:Preferences or Special:Login, maybe that has to do with it? -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 04:36, 15 November 2014 (CET)
- load.php is the trigger file for MediaWiki's ResourceLoader which is a relatively new method in later MediaWiki versions for loading extensions, CSS, and JavaScript. It doesn't trigger on Special:Preferences or Special:UserLogin due to the fact of those special pages' importance, where you don't want them to be broken if something in ResourceLoader is broken, which could prevent you from logging in or changing your preferences. That shouldn't be what's causing this issue (but awesome attention to detail; I love when people who report bugs actually look for possible causes themselves. :) ). My guess is it could be a recently changed template or something, though I haven't looked yet. --Meiko (talk) 04:39, 15 November 2014 (CET)

Hi
Yes, I am wikia:c:lego:User:Lego Whovian. I like the fact that you moved Brickipedia to its own site but, I have to admit that I find it more difficult to navigate than Biosector01. But it's still great, though! :) Lego Whovian (talk) 20:26, 29 December 2014 (CET)
Page Move Redirect maintenance request
We recently renamed and moved the page Field of Shadows to Zone of Darkness. I was wondering if you would be able to make meikoBot go in and move all the redirects. I wouldn't mind doing so myself, but there is enough that it would be considered an edit spree and it would clutter the Recent Changes page. Firespitter Lhii (talk) 18:48, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
