Talk:Artakha (Being)
Where did we learn he carried a war-hammer that was once one of his forge tools? ζω·τωμανα•
- I forget, but I know I saw it somewhere. :/ SANTA JALA Happy Hahli-days 03:41, 22 December 2013 (PST)
- It's probably somewhere in the Farshtey Feed of old. I've been going through those entries and adding documentation; if it's there, I'll get to it eventually. --Angel Bob (talk) 03:14, 29 October 2014 (CET)
I believe that it is time for someone to come up with a picture of Artakha.--GorillaPotato (talk) 02:42, 29 October 2014 (CET)
- Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we're going to get any new Gen1 material. Unless something unprecedented happens, Artakha shall remain faceless forevermore. --Master of the Rahkshi Ask, and ye shall receive. Eventually. 03:15, 29 October 2014 (CET)
- Artakha was always on the taboo list for contests and the like anyway. He was very intentionally mysterious. Greg sort of scuppered that by revealing him in RoS (albeit in a cool way) and then forgetting about it later, but a picture of Artakha was never going to happen.
- And if people thing that using the Gen2 Mask of Creation for an MoC contest is a viable option, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 10:07, 29 October 2014 (CET)
Creations
Does anyone else think this page could use a list of Artakha's creations? I clicked onto this page expecting to see one similar to the Brotherhood of Makuta's "Rahi Creation" subheading. Master Inika (Talk) 07:15, 22 February 2017 (CET)
- Those are listed on the Artakha (Location) page. -- Surel—Nuva (Talk) 07:24, 22 February 2017 (CET)
Wheater control
We know that Makuta, Kraata, and Rahkshi have "Weather Control" powers, and I'm pretty sure Artakha has too. It was demonstrated in story that Artakha controlled his island weather. If you reread the BL8: Downfall epilogue, how Artakha changing his island weather while talking with the Toa Nuva, it's pretty clear that he has this power. So does Artakha actually have weather control powers? I saw on his island's page that he used a mechanism, but it's not sourced. The BL8 doesn't metion that it is his own power or a mechanism, and the BIONICLE World doesn't metion this fact at all. — Surel—Nuva (Talk) 10:38, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
Pronounciation
Is the pronounciation for the location good enough for a source? Because I don't think we've ever gotten a pronounciation from elsewhere. ~ Wolk (talk) 15:07, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
Updated Instructions?
After a bit of negative reaction to the lack of stability of the original model, the original creator of the model created updated instructions for a new leg design.
Would it be appropriate to provide these new instructions on the BS01 page, even though they were not part of the original contest submission?
One thing to keep in mind is that the winning model was not canon, so the updated model is not any more or less canon than the original one. As such, I see no problem with providing the updated instructions, especially given that they fix a glaring flaw in the original model.
The Jerminator (talk) 20:52, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- This is a similar situation to Miserix. The original creator revamped the design, but the revamp is not considered canon, only the original is. Yes, the winning Artakha MOC isn't canon either, but it's what the community voted on, and should not be changed. The original instructions should stay, but perhaps the updated version could be included in the trivia? Dag (talk) 22:11, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- Yes; the original winner needs to stay, as do the instructions, since they are for the "official" inspiration model. I've thought about it, and there is kind of an argument for *not* adding the updated instructions, since they are not for the "official" model. But at the same time, they are a fairly important addition. It's not like the creator just thought "Hey, I didn't like the original model so I'm changing it"; There was a massive design flaw in the original, and this fixes it, while still looking like the canon appearance. Even if we don't add a link for the new instructions due to their "unofficial" status, BS01 should at least make people aware that they exist. The Jerminator (talk) 20:57, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
Revoking my Credit on the Artakha and Mask of Creation
Perp3tual (talk) 04:16, 5 November 2021 (UTC) To the Bionicle Community,
My name is Perp3tual. I am the artist who drew Artakha’s winning representation last year, and after the last few months of wrestling with my feelings about these contests, I regret doing it. I like the piece, and I’m glad other people like this piece as well, but I think that people shouldn’t use my artwork to vindicate the environment that the TTV Canon Contests have fostered.
At the time, I had issue with another content creator, KhingK, for reasons both internal and external to the Canon contests, but regardless of those feelings towards him, that mindset was enabled by these contests. The management of them, either through incompetence, arrogance or whatever reasons have accumulated over the two years these have ran, let that happen, and if I want these to be held to the level of transparency I want to see from them, I've got to do so for myself as well. Time and time again, I've seen my name be posted as a beacon of what these contests can make and what they ought to strive for, and I don't feel right knowing what led my piece to existing in the space that it did.
I want people to know that I’m not trying to be contrarian towards these being run or that any of these opinions are anything but my own. My decision to revoke my credit from the Artakha artwork doesn’t come easily, but I need to do it for me. I don’t like letting people down, but I need to be proud of my work, and Artakha isn’t something I can be proud of because of all of this.
- Perp3tual
- I apologize for asking this, but I’m a little confused. When you stated that you have frustrations towards “the management of them”, who were you referring to? Was it still Khingk or TTV? Additionally, are you upset at yourself for entering the contest when a lot of people wanted KhingK’s design canonized? Did the contest get to your head and instead made you get into it with him or something, which made you feel negative towards the contests being ran in-general? Again, I apologize, I guess it really isn’t any of my business, but I’m still trying to understand what you said because I don’t quite get it. -- FirespitterVakama (talk) 10:29 AM, 5 November 2021 (EST)
