Once just a guardian robot, Maxilos has been taken over by an evil intelligence determined to destroy the Toa Mahri. Aided by his energy hound, Spinax, Maxilos uses his twin-bladed black fire sword and shoulder-mounted Cordak revolving blaster to seize control of the Pit.

Set Information

The set contains 256 pieces and was released in summer 2007.

Features

Maxilos features a uniquely constructed torso, instead of the single-piece upper torsos introduced with the Piraka and Toa Inika sets in 2006. This torso design was the first in a BIONICLE set to allow for shoulder articulation.

Maxilos wields a shoulder-mounted Cordak Blaster, which can launch the projectiles included in the set. The blaster can hold six mini-rockets.

Collectibles

The set includes two gunmetal gray Kanohi Ignika, in the shape previously found in silver in the 8764 Vezon & Fenrakk set, that serve as Maxilos's shoulder armor. Maxilos's red mask is also unique to this set; however, it is not classified as a Kanohi in the storyline.
