Talk:Makuta (Generation 2)
A long time ago, on the mythical island of Okoto, all lived in harmony. It was a place of wonders and beautiful landscapes. From the island's elemental forces, two brothers, known as the Mask Makers, created Masks of Power. Each brother had a special mask: Makuta owned the Mask of Control and Ekimu the Mask of Creation. The brothers provided the islanders with many masks but Ekimu's were the most treasured. His brother became envious and forged an evil plan...
I found that in a description from a video from some HeroFactoryRU channel. Is that official? Boidoh (talk) 07:22, 10 October 2014 (CEST)
- I really, really, really want this to be confirmed. Mostly so I can stop running after edits. But, I found two 'official' channels for Hero Factory and I can't tell if either of them actually are. I've seen this description on videos everywhere, so it must be coming from somewhere, but I haven't found this source yet. So... *sigh*... no. Ekimu is still unconfirmed. --Master of the Rahkshi Ask, and ye shall receive. Eventually. 07:44, 10 October 2014 (CEST)
- Here's the source... a video from the official BIONICLE Facebook page. -Quolas (talk) 08:44, 10 October 2014 (CEST)
- The video itself is not a problem. It's the written bit that I can't source. Is his name Ekimu? Akimu? Ikimoo? There needs to be a written source. --Master of the Rahkshi Ask, and ye shall receive. Eventually. 08:49, 10 October 2014 (CEST)
- Alrighty then, Greg has said it's probably Ekimu, which is official enough to go on for now. XD So, everyone go nuts. :P I am so glad that's over. --Master of the Rahkshi Ask, and ye shall receive. Eventually. 01:31, 11 October 2014 (CEST)

Name Change
If at all possible, I'd prefer to see this made into an alternate tab of either the Teridax page or the Makuta page. "Gen2:Makuta" is just an extremely unwieldy page title, and I want it gone as soon as possible. :P But I understand that there are coding issues to work out, so I won't press the issue. --Angel Bob (talk) 01:30, 11 October 2014 (CEST)
- It's on the to-do list, yeah XP. -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 01:33, 11 October 2014 (CEST)
- I'd say to link it with Teridax. Toa Green Ninja (talk) 01:40, 11 October 2014 (CEST)
- I don't thinking linking it with Teridax would be a wise idea. His name is Makuta in this universe, so making the name Makuta (Generation 2) would probably be the best idea. BioChronicler (talk)
- But this a character we're talking about, not a species. Who knows if there are more Makuta in this universe or not? Toa Green Ninja (talk) 03:28, 11 October 2014 (CEST)
- You got a point there, but I think it is unlikely. He's the literal brother of Ekimu this time... So unless Ekimu is also a Makuta (which has not been confirmed and seems unlikely), I think the page should stay as Makuta. But yes, link it with Teridax so people can know the connection of the different versions. BioChronicler (talk) 04:24, 11 October 2014 (CEST)
- Actually it won't make searches easier since it's not the same namespace. I'm hoping you've set up "Gen2" as a content namespace as well or it'll be really ineffective. Also keep in mind extra namespaces are harder on SEO than "Makuta (Reboot)" or whatever would be. --Meiko (talk) 04:51, 11 October 2014 (CEST)
- Aye, unless you search "Gen2:Tahu" for example, it won't be easier at all. Nevermind the more technical stuff Meiko's bringing up too about properly handling a namespace.
- I find the namespace hideous. Absolutely so. Matter of opinion there, true, but the parentheses method is seriously infinitely better to me. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
Materializing
The official press release of BIONICLE 2015 states that "the evil Makuta is once again materializing", with a desire to claim the Mask of Creation, Mask of Control, and Mask of Ultimate Power.
My question: Is this a reliable enough source for this information to be added to his Biography entry? The press release seems to have otherwise accurate information, and it is on the official LEGO website. However, since this information would change the tone of our entry on Makuta by a great degree, I want to get a community consensus before moving ahead. --Angel Bob (talk) 00:52, 6 December 2014 (CET)
- I would say so. Even if we don't it still is worth noting that he has the ability to materialize and dematerialize himself. --Collector1100 (talk) 00:56, 6 December 2014 (CET)
Uhhhhhhh.... What?
I don't interpret that literally at all when reading it...
It's just a phrase to say that Makuta's a character they brought back too. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
- I actually interpreted it more literally, but ET brings up a great point. Either way, it's information without context, which is usually a no-no. -- Dorek Talk 06:25, 6 December 2014 (CET)
Archives
The LEGO Shop page for BIONICLE can change any moment, then your references links won't show that same old page anymore. Either someone add archives, or someone teach me how to make archived pages. --Boidoh (talk) 00:08, 11 December 2014 (CET)
- I feel the same way. I've held off adding archived links because I don't know how. Does anyone have that information? --Angel Bob (talk) 00:29, 11 December 2014 (CET)
- You can pull up archives of the BIONICLE site by using the Internet Archive. As for adding them to the articles, I don't really have a clue.--Collector1100 (talk) 00:34, 11 December 2014 (CET)
Picture
Shouldn't the pictures be swapped? Makuta only wore the MoUP for like, two seconds. The other picture is how he looks (as far as we know) at the moment. --- Creepy
Category
Should we add Category:Alternate Models to this page? I ask because the only information about the Makuta figure is here. Same goes for Shadow Spawn, if we make that page. --Angel Bob (talk) 17:06, 15 August 2016 (CET)
Add Karzahni to see also?
While obviously Makuta is mainly a G2 equivalent to Teridax, he seems to have a lot of commonalities with Karzahni as well:
- Has a brother who wears the Mask of Creation.
- Rules over a realm feared in legend where he's been for centuries.
- Seeks to achieve god-like power.
- One appearance is that of a black-and-gold armored titan.
Just some thoughts.--Wiriamu (talk) 21:04, 30 May 2017 (CET)
