The set was released in Summer 2008 as part of the "Mistika" line. The set contains contains 62 pieces.

Parts from Onua can also be combined with parts from 8688 Toa Gali and 8689 Toa Tahu to create Trinuma.

The set was included in K8688 Mistika Collection and 66274 Costco Co-Pack C, and 3 copies of the set were included in 4529070 BIONICLE Mistika Black/Yellow.

Features

The set includes a Nynrah Ghost Blaster and 2 gunmetal gray ammunition pieces.

Several of the smaller 2008 figures can be mounted on Onua's back, though the set is advertised as combining with 8946 Photok.
