Set Information

Slizer artwork for the set

The Sub Slizer set was released in 1999 as part of the Slizer line. The set was known as Scuba in America, where it was instead part of the Throwbots line. In addition to its 37 pieces, the set comes with a medium blue-and-blue carrying case.

The pieces of the set can be combined with three other Slizer sets - 8500 Fire Slizer, 8501 Ice Slicer, and 8502 City Slizer - to make the Super Slizer,[3] known in American markets as the super Throwbot RoboTops.[4] Each of the component sets provides one-fourth of the instructions for the combiner model.

Features

The Sub Slizer has a flexible arm which can launch one of the included throwing discs. Turning a propeller on the Sub Slizer's back moves its head up and down and transforms it into "compact mode," described as a "mini-sub."[5] This form allows it to fit inside its carrying case for storage.

In the story, the set's carrying case represents a flying transport. The carrying case also includes indentations to store extra disc, and can be attached to a belt.

Collectibles

The Sub Slizer set contains two printed discs: A level 2 disc in its secondary color yellow and a level 3 disc in teal themed after 8502 City Slizer.
