Set Information

The Slizer version of the set packaging

The Fire Slizer set was released in 1999 as part of the Slizer line. The set was known as Torch in America, where it was instead part of the Throwbots line. In addition to its 31 pieces, the set comes with a red-and-black carrying case.

The pieces of the set can be combined with three other Slizer sets - 8501 Ice Slicer, 8502 City Slizer, and 8503 Sub Slizer - to make the Super Slizer,[3] known in American markets as the Super Throwbot RoboTops.[4] Each of the component sets provides one-fourth of the instructions for the combiner model.

Features

The Throwbots version of the set packaging

The Fire Slizer has a flexible arm which can launch one of the included throwing discs. Turning a gear on the Fire Slizer's back moves its head up and down and transforms it into "compact mode," described as a "compact fire fighter."[5] This form allows it to fit inside its carrying case for storage.

In the story, the set's carrying case represents a flying transport. The carrying case also includes indentations to store extra disc, and can be attached to a belt.

Collectibles

The Fire Slizer set contains two printed discs: A level 2 disc in its primary color red, and a level 3 disc in white themed after 8501 Ice Slicer.
