Set Information

The Slizer version of the set packaging

The Fire Slizer set was released in 1999 as part of the Slizer line. The set was known as Torch in America, where it was instead part of the Throwbots line. The set could be combined with three other Slizer sets - 8501 Ice Slicer, 8502 City Slizer, and 8503 Sub Slizer - to make the Super Slizer,[1] known in American markets as the Super Throwbot RoboTops.[2] Each of the component sets contained one-fourth of the instructions for the combiner model.

In addition to its 31 pieces, the set came with a red-and-black carrying case, advertised in the Throwbots line as a transport.

Features

The Throwbots version of the set packaging

The Fire Slizer had a flexible arm which could launch an included throwing disc. Turning a gear on the Fire Slizer's back could help move its "head" up and down and transform it to fit inside its carrying case, which could be attached to a belt. The carrying case also included indentations to store extra discs.

Collectibles

The Fire Slizer set had two printed discs: A level 2 disc in its primary color red, and a level 3 disc in white themed after 8501 Ice Slicer.
