810NICLE Day (abbreviated 810 or sometimes known as BIONICLE Day) is a fan event originally conceived by BIONICLEsector01 to celebrate the BIONICLE franchise.

History

Origins

The idea for 810NICLE Day was originally developed by BS01 general manager Dorek and social media manager SPIRIT as a way to showcase and celebrate the BIONICLE franchise, which had been discontinued (for a second time) several years prior in 2016. The name "810NICLE Day" was inspired by the MAR10 Day holiday put on by Nintendo, and set for August 10th[note 1] of 2019. Other fan communities were invited to collaborate.

2019

The very first 810NICLE Day was streamed on The Beaverhouse YouTube on August 10th, 2019. Featured segments included a live episode of the Gathered Friends podcast,[note 2] a Quest for the Masks game session played in Tabletop Simulator, a BIONICLE trivia challenge, and the release of The Legend of Mata Nui REBUILT demo from Litestone Studios.

2020

The second 810NICLE Day featured quite a few more events — numerous community projects joined in, including Wall of History, Bio-Cup, Masks of Power, and BIONICLEsector01. Mask of Destiny, the oldest BIONICLE fan site, made an appearance as well, announcing it was revitalizing itself and merging with several other community sites. BIONIFIGS, an organization of French BIONICLE fans, also conducted an interview with Glatorian comic artist Pop Mhan.

2021

810NICLE Day 2021 celebrated the twentieth anniversary of BIONICLE, focusing specifically on the 2001 sets and story. 2021 was also the first two-day event.

Day one featured a new episode of Reviving BIONICLE by SuddenlyOranges, a first look at Myths and Legacy’s Vision of the Great Beings, and the first of two interview panels with noteworthy contributors to BIONICLE (including the legendary — and elusive — Bob Thompson).

Day two featured the second interview panel, along with a new episode of Firespitting with BS01, a BIONICLE game show, and a live Doronai Nui session hosted by Red Star Games.
