Talk:Helryx
Would have thought this page had a talk page already... anyway, the links for at least the first two citations here lead to the wrong page on the new website we're using for citations. i'm not sure which is the right page to link to, nor how to format the citation correctly, otherwise i would have just fixed it haha. Part of the Hand
I know this is probably just from a Greg Q&A somewhere, but since it isn't cited, I wanted to ask if anyone knows where it was stated that Helryx was part of the Hand of Artakha.--Harsulin's Ghost (talk) 00:50, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not sure which story source says it specifically (probably World?) but it's sort of logic-based; she founded the OoMN, but was created before that, and so would have existed during the time of the Hand. But it's definitely specified somewhere.
- If nothing else, ipso facto she was apparently the leader of the Hand according to whatever nonsense came out recently, so there's that. (coulda sworn Greg at one point said she WASN'T the leader, if someone wants to trawl the OGD archives, but maybe just wishful thinking...) -- Dorek Talk 05:58, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
- You both should check the HoA page's citations. — Surel—Nuva (Talk) 10:15, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
Color
I'm guessing the results of the TTV contest take precedence, but nothing like this has happened before. I was just now made aware of this quote from 2014, where Greg says her armor is dark blue (https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2013-2017/page554#post11692457-line2,8), but the winning Helryx, both MOC and art, are not dark (Metru) blue. I'm guessing no one else was aware of this during the time of the contest (or at least not enough people were and it still fell through the cracks). In all likelihood, this may not be that big of an issue, but I think it deserves discussion nonetheless. Dag (talk) 01:22, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- I was, hence my version, but because a lot of people said that in the Swamp of Secrets, Tahu says that Helryx's armor blue, similarly to Gali's, and they ranted that she should be mata blue because of that.--Surel-Nuva (Talk) 08:47, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- That doesn't make a whole a lot of sense to me, seeing as SoS was during when Gali's armor was now Metru blue, not Mata blue, but oh well. Dag (talk) 13:50, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- Greg also said the Mask of Creation wasn't gold and look how that went. I'm not worried about it tbh, he did approve it. --Gonel (talk) 14:27, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- My thinking here is that the question is faulty in that it assumes there to only be two shades of blue - which of course there are not - in which case, I think all we can gather from that is that she is not *light* blue. As Mata blue is in the middle between Medium and Metru blue, I think Mata blue can be read as either light or dark blue in the case of there only being those two options. There for, the current depiction should be fine. As for the Mask of Creation, way I read the quote Greg is essentially saying it isn't necessairly gold, not that can't be gold. ~ Wolk (talk) 20:06, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Huh, interesting find Dag. Some people on Discord are saying the part where Helryx is compared to Gali took place in a flashback, so if the book really says the armor was the same shade of blue, it probably was Mata blue. Idk the passage, but others can dig out their books if they're curious. In any case, yeah at the end of the day this art supersedes prior Greg quotes. If we want to pretend it's all internally consistent, then yeah as Wolk said, "dark blue" could conceivably mean "darker than Turaga Nokama's color." I wouldn't sweat it though. -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 23:21, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
