Welcome!
Hello, Takhamavahu, and welcome to the BS01 Wiki! Thank you for your contributions. We hope you like the place and decide to stay. As you can see, the BS01 Wiki is a place where you can type out all of the things you know about BIONICLE. If you don't know how to fully use the features of this Wiki, these will be some great links to look through:
We hope you enjoy editing and contributing to the biggest BIONICLE encyclopedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Try to remember, the Wiki Staff monitor the articles, and articles are edited constantly, so if any of your edits are reverted, or another edit is placed, don't worry about it. If you need help, just ask the existing members and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Also, in order to improve this Wiki, your feedback is very much appreciated. To provide feedback, please place it on the Member Opinion Hub. If you have any questions regarding the Wiki in general, they can be placed on the Help Desk. If you have any criticisms to make regarding the BS01 Wiki staff, they can be placed onto the Complaint Center. (After you have read and understood everything above and the notices below, feel free to remove this template.) |

Set numbers/Bolded set names
Okay, so I agree with the set numbers being on pages, but the set name being bolded doesn't sound like it should be there. If you can find a comment by a staff member that says the set name and number can be bolded, I'll leave them. --Vartemp 01:20, 15 August 2014 (CEST)
- I first removed them from the set numbers from the set info section because we now have a section for that on character infoboxes, but I think you've got a point; if someone was looking for set numbers, they'd probably first look at the set info section. --Vartemp 01:28, 15 August 2014 (CEST)
I strongly recommend that you slow your editing spree down. There's clearly a dispute about proceedings and I don't see you listening to Vartemp here and seeking an arbitrator. Believe me when I say being bullheaded isn't the best way to go about things. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
Your comments of "We can keep chatting, but..." certainly read more as "I don't care what you say, I'm doing it my way until I get told not to."
And fine. Here's a clear, dissenting opinion: I don't like the bold either and do not feel it should be used. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
- Semantics of italics vs bold aside, it seems like this issue was never fully resolved, so please refrain from making those edits until a consensus is reached. Making unilateral decisions isn't conducive to wiki editing; we like collaboration! -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 00:50, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
Where can this discussion be had? How can we resolve it?
In the meantime, my edits today have been a lot more than just italics. I've been cleaning up the set information sections, rephrasing things that are written akwardly, and adding missing information. Because this wiki focuses almost exclusively on in-universe facts, real-world topics like Set Information seem to suffer. I'm trying to help by doing the research and making the Set Information sections more concise and complete.
As for the italics, I'm starting to come around and agree that bold was ugly, But italics I feel are very different. Tahnok is the name of a group of characters and is just a proper noun in-story. The name of the set on the other hand, is the title of a creative work, so I think it should be italicised like the title of a book.
I'll happily stop using italics for the time being, but I'd really like this resolved. The fact that we need a conflict over what font to use is ridiculous. Takhamavahu 01:24, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
- Here, for instance, or on whatever talkpage that the issue was brought up before.
- And you're welcome to put those edits back (if they were removed wholesale), but using that as a pretext to grandfather in the use of italics isn't the way to go about it.
- Set information has always been a bit of an interesting spot in the wiki (and certainly why I keep advocating for a set database, which is in a prenatal stage at the moment), but the use of bold/italics/whatever would be an entirely stylistic usage on our part. It's use as an artistic medium is debatable (some places do it like that, others don't), so whether or not it gets used is a wiki decision, which requires discussion. First you said bold, now we're onto italics. My personal preference is to wait until we have a set database, then the links that lead to the set page will suffice for calling attention it. -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 01:47, 13 October 2014 (CEST)
