Talk:Naho
I thought we'd had a poll on BZP a while back to decide Naho's mask. Or was it just for intrest's sake and not for canon?Takhamavahu 20:52, 31 August 2012 (PDT)

I just looked it up and we did and it was for canon, but then BZPower went on Hiatus and it hasn't been mentioned since. At the time the hiatus began, Huna was the winning choice, by a lot. Takhamavahu 21:07, 31 August 2012 (PDT)
- If the contest wasn't completed, then you should take that up with BZP Staff related to that particular arena. You also posted on Podu's TP, do the BZP Archives have a contest for him? Link? ζω·τωμανα•
http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=334423 This is for Naho. It only ran for a few days, though and didn't get a post confirming the final result. But it was intended to be for canon. It was just unfinished. I left the link for Podu on his talk page. Turns out that one was just for interest though. Takhamavahu 21:43, 31 August 2012 (PDT)

Naho's mask
Hello, didn't Greg Farshtey say what mask she wore in a part of Chat with Greg Farshtey? The link is right here. https://community.lego.com/t5/LEGO-General/Chat-with-Greg-Farshtey/td-p/6605180/page/550 --Andre31kbrick193 (talk) 23:57, 19 September 2015 (CEST)
Mask and Tool
Considering that Lewa Krom only asked for the decanonization of the Huna and the Warhammer, because he was kind of accused with forging the quote, because he didn't use the usual format, and was told off that they wanted to have contest for the Toa Mangai, which eventually never came to be, when he just asked for those from Greg, who usually rejected everything that he wasn't okay with it, I would say the Huna and the warhammer should still be counted as canon.--Surel-Nuva (Talk) 21:57, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- I agree with this. The only reason Greg decanonized it is because Lewa Krom asked him to retract it, which I don't think is a good enough reason. If it conflicted with previous canon, then it would be different, but it doesn't. Dag (talk) 22:15, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- Greg said it's not canon, so I think this one's pretty cut and dry. -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 23:35, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- As Surel-nuva said, LewaKrom asked Greg to retract it due to the backlash he received for it on BZP, specifically because people wanted it decided through a poll, not just by one person PMing Greg (https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2008-2010/page291#post11627). At some point, there was a poll, where the final options were a Kakama, Mask of Healing, and Huna, but it was never resolved (https://web.archive.org/web/20201001234533/https://derchronist.net/blog/2011/03/massive-bss-aktivitaten/). Afterwards, the Mask of Healing went to the Toa of the Green, and the Kakama to the Toa of Earth (not to mention the several quotes from Greg denying that Naho wore a Kakama). By elimination, that leaves the Huna, even if it isn't officially canon. It would probably be best to ask Greg once again for clarification. Dag (talk) 00:57, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
Me neither! Thank you for that extra background. As it stands now, I think it would be fair to explain the situation to Greg and ask for his opinion, but these days the logistics of that are difficult of course. It's pretty clear that Naho would have worn a Huna if the poll results had been passed on to Greg, but without official confirmation it's best we leave that info out of the infobox. The whole story would make for an interesting trivia point though. -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 03:17, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- What if we explain this to him on the TTV MBs, and he would agree to re-canonize these? I think Lewa Krom deserves justice for this.--Surel-Nuva (Talk) 04:33, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Looks like he hasn't been online since the stay at home orders started in the US. :/ -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 04:53, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Honestly, we ought to make a list. Between this, straightening out/getting clarification for timeline mishaps, and the Phantom thing, among others, it there's quite a bit worth forwarding to him. Would be pretty fun if BS01 could arrange like a list of canon questions to submit something like every other month, like BZP's story squad, to supplement the regular questions on the message boards, but I suppose that would probably be a bit of an undertaking. --Gonel (talk) 05:45, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- I think this Huna question is something he could probably resolve - however, as he brought up in Bionifigs' interview: "I still get questions on the story, but a lot of them are so detailed that I really can’t answer them after so many years." As far as him visiting the boards, it seems he only does that from his work office for whatever reason, and since he's working from home now... Yeah. I agree it is worth a shot. ~ Wolk (talk) 06:31, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
I would like to point out that Greg did say that Naho wore the Kakama at one point (https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2013-2017/page536#post11589811), and while he was supposed to have said in the past, (supposedly multiple times, but that seems doesn't seem to be true), that she didn't, which would be precident if true, as Greg clarified/reiterated, and he apparently confirmed it in 2008 (though I actually view the archive myself), meaning that it is canon, should the incorrect confirmation of her wearing it be included in the note? After all, the contest results are understood as non-canon, so would it be all right if I just added to the note? Also, I know it isn't available to everyone, but can I add the external link/citation about her not having a Kakama? I would love to have it archived in a more readily available form, but I don't know if such an archive exists at the moment, and so I think we should make do with what we have.
