Report BETA skin bugs here!

Bugs: The new skin is messing with the tabs of the templates. They all default to the first tab, and the rest won't open. And, as noted by another editor on Talk:Main Page, the Era icons are crashing into the quotes at the tops of pages, and that's just a hot mess. --Angel Bob (talk) 22:52, 21 September 2014 (CEST)

Alrighty, I'll take a look at those. Thanks for reporting them! --Akihabara「Talk Page」 22:56, 21 September 2014 (CEST)

This is a bug that may be fixed when you figure out what is messing with templates/tables, but there also seems to be a bug on my History Page (and UP until I edited them out) with the collapsing tables, namely that they won't, and there is no show/hide. Could be worse, they could not open XD Also, I can confirm both issues are happening in Chrome and IE.
Second and third bugs can be seen on this page. For me, the page shrinks horizontally and leaves an unbroken whitespace (bg text does not extend past the scrollbar), and the Object Parent Page image/link has been moved over on top of the Object Template, another part of the "hot mess" that is the era icons being misplaced. ζoxHistories External Image

UP's and the setting page do not extend across the screen. Instead they are stuck to a 600(?) pixel width. My screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 with normal dpi settings. -- External Image

Articles and this talk page will not load; I can however cancel the loading and it will show me a basic page without a skin. This editing page appears to function normally, as does the login page. Keplers (talk) 21:01, 28 September 2014 (CEST) The countdown to the New York City Comic Con does not show up in the new skin. Maybe you're already aware of this. Luka1184 (talk) 15:03, 5 October 2014 (CEST)

Interestingly, the new skin isn't even showing up on my browser, so I'm not experiencing any bugs. :P It's probably because I'm using an outdated version of Safari, because I'm a crotchety old fool too stuck in my ways to surrender to Google Chrome. --Angel Bob (talk) 17:16, 5 October 2014 (CEST)
Hi i am the owner of the metrolook skin and along with another person. please upgrade metrolook 1.3.1 which fix most of the bugs and is much more stable. but the 1.x release requires mediawiki 1.23 so please upgrade from mediawiki 1.22 ro 1.23. i am currently going to test an update to support mediawiki 1.22. if you would like to wait untill mediawiki 1.24 is out in november then 2.4.4 is the version you need for mediawiki 1.24. Paladox (talk) 17:52, 5 October 2014 (CEST)
Also please report any problems to https://github.com/paladox2015/Metrolook/issues where someone can have a look and fix the issue. Paladox (talk) 17:55, 5 October 2014 (CEST)
also when i add support for mediawiki 1.22 the version to look out is 0.x release it will probly start with 0.5 so i can use 0.1 for mediawiki 1.21. but i recomend upgrading to mediawiki 1.23 where there is a new login screen and where it supports more new things. Paladox (talk) 17:55, 5 October 2014 (CEST)
Pleasure to meet you! Thank makes sense, I had to download an older version of Metrolook to fit with our system. Thankfully, we should be updating to 1.23 soon, so we'll be able to upgrade to the newest version of metrolook soon. --Akihabara「Talk Page」 04:02, 10 October 2014 (CEST)
Hi I have released 0.3.2 for MediaWiki 1.22 to support it. Paladox (talk) 18:20, 22 October 2014 (CEST)

I'm getting preview bugs, no idea if it affects the actual application of these skins but I'm getting "Fatal error: Class 'SkinLegacy' not found in /home/swert/biosector01.com/wiki/skins/XX.php on line 17" (where XX is the real skin name). I'm getting this error for Nostalgia and Standard. Everything else seems to preview fine in regards to actually loading the page. Also, the skins chick, myskin and simple have super whitespace at the top and I don't know if this is intentional or not. [[User:Proto]] (talk) 20:05, 5 October 2014 (CEST)

We've temporarily suspended using the skin while Metax is away, so thanks for all the comments guys! Once Metax comes back, we'll get a-fixing all of these issues. -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 22:35, 5 October 2014 (CEST)

Doesn't seem like a beta skin bug, but I can't figure out how to fix it.

There's only one instance on MediaWiki:Recentchangestext and I can't find it in any of the system messages.

Incidentally, are you someone I used to know with a new name? -Shine 03:42, 10 October 2014 (CEST)

Hm.. Not sure what's causing that bug. I'll be sure to check it out! Thanks! About whether I knew you or not previously, I'm not sure, what was the name of the person you knew? (Or, Did you have a different username previously and I know you by your old one?) --Akihabara「Talk Page」 04:02, 10 October 2014 (CEST)
Nah, we don't know each other then. I was a general manager on here back before Bionicle got discontinued, so I was just wondering whether you were someone I knew from back then with a new name. Thanks for looking at the bug though. -Shine 04:06, 10 October 2014 (CEST)

Tabber is working again! So are my old Show-Hides! Woo! Still screwing with Parent Page links (putting them on top of info templates) and possibly era icons as well. ζoxHistories External Image

Just noticed this on the sandbox page: the ToC's are a little bit messed with. Instead of just show and hide, the button says <showtoc> and <hidetoc>. Dunno if that is a skin thing or a thing to do with what y'all are having to do to adapt the skin, but it be there. ζoxHistories External Image

Metrolook

Hi! I'm immewnity, the original creator of the Metrolook skin. Paladox, who commented above, has since taken the source onto GitHub and has been making some modifications and adding different options to it. I initially coded the skin for personal use only, so I didn't put in any comments. If there's anything with the skin that's causing issues, or anything that's shown on my site, PidgiWiki, that you can't figure out how to do, feel free to contact me as well. I haven't been keeping up on a lot of Paladox's updates, so I may defer to him on many things, but any sloppy code is probably from me. :P --Immewnity (talk) 23:59, 5 October 2014 (CEST)

Hi Immewnity the version they are using which is 1.0.3 when I first started to update it. it doesent support mediawiki 1.22. they should upgrade there mediawiki version to 1.23 and upgrade metrolook to 1.3.1 because mediawiki 1.22 is much harder to backport changes and currently wont support most of the changes I would like in it. and plus this version has the javascript problem and other. Paladox (talk) 01:02, 6 October 2014 (CEST)
Thanks Immewnity and Paladox! I'll be upgrading the site to 1.23 soon and to the most recent version of Metrolook. If I run into any errors, I'll be sure to contact both of you! --Akihabara「Talk Page」 04:02, 10 October 2014 (CEST)
Ok Paladox (talk) 19:16, 10 October 2014 (CEST)
Hi Mediawiki 1.24 has been released now. Paladox (talk) 18:25, 27 November 2014 (CET)

Common.js Changes

You just added back an issue Fippe fixed this afternoon though... Where editing a page removes the (Generation 2) from article links, which of course shouldn't be getting done. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)

Yes, I added it back because removing "Generation 1" and "Generation 2" from the title is an intentional feature. If not actually changing the URL. (IE. It'll call the Makuta Gen 2 page "Makuta" on the page, however the URL for the page remains Makuta (Generation 2). The issue with it affecting the page edits is currently being fixed. It should be fixed within a few minutes. --Akihabara「Talk Page」 03:35, 14 October 2014 (CEST)
I'm aware of that. In fact, I didn't mention article titles at all. And his removals still left that intact while simultaneously fixing the editing issues, whereas you made it a problem again... I was confused as to why. But whatever, is indeed fixed now. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
Or not? I definitely don't think it would have been intentional. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
I can confirm, I didn't remove those on purpose. --Vartemp 04:20, 15 October 2014 (CEST)

His edits removed the title modifications, which is why I re-enabled it. I've fixed the bug where it'd replace the contents of the edit page, but If it continues to replace things, let me know.--Akihabara「Talk Page」 04:21, 17 October 2014 (CEST)

...That's literally what we just said it's doing again... --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
I found a bug in the code which caused specific edit pages to still apply the gen. remover. It's fixed now, so there shouldn't be any more sudden replacements in the pages. --Akihabara「Talk Page」 19:44, 20 October 2014 (CEST)

On a different note, some pages have a completely unnecessary gen switcher, which is most likely because of this line:

   if($("#firstHeading > span:contains(Teridax)").html()){

So yeah, all the pages whose title contains 'Teridax' now have the switcher. This includes stuff like Warhammer (Teridax), Teridax's Po-Metru Lair, etc... »Zapnox«

Thanks for reporting the bug! I've modified the way it looks for Makuta pages now, so the issue shouldn't happen anymore. If you see it pop up again, please let me know! --Akihabara「Talk Page」 05:35, 24 October 2014 (CEST)
