Did Macku go by "Maku" or "Macku" on Metru Nui? -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 03:45, 8 March 2014 (CET)

I want to say "Macku" because of the whole Maori thing, but I could be wrong. LockmanCapulet Crusty relics! 04:05, 8 March 2014 (CET)

If we wanted to cover our bases, we could probably say that she went by "Maku" but that in later stories that flashback to Metru Nui and mention her it will be printed "Macku" due to the Maori thing. ζω·τωμαναexternal image

Does anyone else find it funny that Macku's evident role in BIONICLE is to greet visitors from alternate universes? She's the first one Takanuva sees in The Kingdom, she's the first to greet Mazeka and Vultraz in The Melding Alternate Universe, and she's the one who found Tuyet in Reign of Shadows. If she'd appeared in Dark Mirror instead of Kapura and on Spherus Magna instead of Tarduk, she'd have a perfect record. XD I'm considering adding this to the Trivia section, but I'm not sure how to phrase it properly. --Angel Bob (talk) 01:57, 16 March 2014 (CET)

Legends of Metru Nui

I agree with The Shadow Imperator, that is Maku. They could have easily used a generic Ga-Matoran model (with the orange eyes & hearlight) but they didn't, they're using the Macku model. The only other time in the movie that we see the models of named characters used is in the ending with Takua, Jaller and Hahli, as well as the scene with Kongu (who is a recolor of the Hafu model). They weren't sporadically reusing every asset they had; we don't even the see the Kakama in the movie, which was reserved for the Ta-Koro and Onu-Koro guards in MoL. I think it's very likely that the intent is for it to be Maku. ~ Wolk (talk) 16:59, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

  • Yeah, there's really no debating that it's Macku. There's also no reason she couldn't have gone for a lesson from time to time if she was in the mood for it, but regardless, I don't think it's our place to declare an movie appearance non-canon just because it might contradict a supplementary guidebook. (Plus, said guidebook also says Lhikan was the lone Toa in Metru Nui going back years--and Greg himself denied there ever being other Toa in 2004 Q&As--which was then retconned in the movie opening. The movies aren't beholden to supplementary material.) The Shadow Imperator (talk) 06:43, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
